We have a 2013 Sunset Trail 26rb. Still no evidence of fading.

Just washed it today. We store it next to a wheat field. They are getting ready to harvest so I will probably have to do it again in a week or two!

Mine started oxidizing in one year. Now my trailer looks 10 years old. It is a 2013.

My 2013 is pretty badly oxidized as well, and has started to delaminate. I'm trying to get an idea what a new front panel from CR will cost as the repair shop said that will be a big part of the overall cost to repair. He said probably anywhere from $1000 to $2500 to repair the delamination. I only hope that if I do get it repaired, the new panel will not fade like the current one has.

We contacted CR and sent them a picture they covered ours. I took it to camping world and they sanded primed sanded and painted it then put clear coat on it is beautiful. It is also a 2013 CR Cruiser Patriot. They told us its because CR mixes their paint with the gel coat and then the sun fades that. They re-do like you do cars etc.

Was that recent? Seems CR has been very inconsistent with coverage. Some folks get help and others are told it is out of coverage if the warranty expired a week ago. Since mine is a 2013 and only had a year coverage I didn't even try to contact them, except to try to get a price on a new panel. Mine is going to take more than a paint job.

I have a 2013 28 BH that just started showing signs of oxidation and have had my unit covered for the majority of time when not being used. I am very disappointed with the product but love the setup I have.

Hi Don and Mary

CR did not approve ours. We have a 32BH. Ours started fading about 2 months after our 1 year warranty and our extended warranty didn't cover it. General RV really tried everything to get it covered. I hope you have better luck.

Ours started at the top and now has moved all the way down the front of the cap. Since it is mostly all oxidized and faded, it is not as noticeable or we are just getting used to it. Either way, it is a shame.

We waxed ours 2 times a year from new and it didn't help any here in the Florida sun.

Do you mind sharing your story with those of us who have not had any luck with CR when our trailers were just months out of warranty?

Yeah, like I think I said earlier, we are not even going to try. I did send an email our latest "contacts" from CR who checked in recently to see if one of them could track down a cost of a new front panel for my 2013 CR 220RB but I haven't heard anything yet. Mainly just trying to get a rough estimate of cost to replace the front end due to delamination. Seems a shame that a 2013 model would already need several thousand dollars worth of repair. And all that damage apparently caused by a leak in the roof that happened within a year of purchase. We came up through tents, pop-ups and a hybrid camper, and I think the worst thing that ever happened was on the hybrid when I had to repair the fresh water intake that "blew out" as we were setting up once. A quick trip into town to a hardware store, a little time, and we were good to go.

Front cap fade

Our 2013 Crossroads Cruiser has a severely faded front cap. It started fading within a year of buying it but I waited too long, thinking that i just needed to give it a good waxing. Knowing it was out of warranty, I assumed it was not covetable and have tried everything to bring the shine back and nothing has worked. How do I contact the Crossroads and ask for help on covering cost to have it fixed?

You're out of warranty, so Crossroads will not help you. Either you try something yourself, or absorb the cost of a paint shop.

There is a product you can try. Cheap enough so it's worth it to try it out: https://www.owatrolusa.com/product/marine-polytrol/

Good luck.

Had great plans to use some elbow grease to clean and polish the trailer after we got back from our trip. Right now we are in the midst of a blizzard and looks like winter has set in early.

I have also been toying with the idea of getting the front cap painted. Not sure of the cost but probably between $1000 and $1500 plus decals. Not sure of what they call the actual color on the front of these trailers but the real name would help in picking the right paint. I once had a truck that was a metal fleck green color but GM called it Burnt Orange.

Does anyone know the paint code for the Chocolate Brown cap model?

Painting is the only permanent fix for the faded front/rear caps. Also it's gelcoat so doubtful even Crossroads will have a paint code. Most any place that sells automotive paints can use their computer to match it perfectly. I've seen several painted that did not put the decals back on & in most cases it actually looked better without. If there's a shop locally that does vehicle wraps they can reproduce the decals that would be easier to find, cheaper & last longer.

Found a place here https://www.rvdecalsdirect.com/cross...il-2015-travel for decals. They have a wide variety of trailer decals by manufacturer and year.
