walked out for the paper this morning . lo and behold another strap that holds the wiring under the slide had failed just sitting there . the last time it was fixed they mounted a spring for tension to the frame and a piece of the strap . luckily , no wires were disturbed i guess the tension from the springwas too much for the plastic . i assume this hot weather had something to do with it .

anyway , i called crossroads to order the part . answer, we don't sell to indivduals anymore . you must order y our parts from adealer . the dealer i bought it from is no longer a CR dealer . went to our local RV store . they called and because they were not a CR dealer , they would not sell it to them . had to be ordered by A CR dealer . local dealer pulled some strings and part did get ordered. as for the strap , there has to be a better way to hold the wires under the slide .

if anybody has an idea , would like to know

Depending on where it broke. Mine broke in the middle where it bends. I just used duct tape and its been fine ever since. Sorry I didn't have a photo of the fix only the break.

Speaking of under slides. I noticed yesterday the propane pipe under the slide for the stove & fridge were rusting terribly. Must be pipe from China. Time to find some POR15 paint. Stops the rust. Also thanks for the heads up on the wiring. Will check it out.

I had one break the last time out. It looked just like the pic posted. I got a piece of real light belting. Cut it about 6--8 in. long and about the same width as the plastic strap. Clamped it up there square with both ends and put 3 pop rivets on each side. Seems to work just as good as before.

Great tips. We will all encounter these situations minor but nice to have some ideas on how to fix.

Drilled Matching holes on both broken ends and used tie straps to cinch it back together. still going strong!

For some that grew up on farms - zip wraps may have replaced bailing wire for the all time fix it item.
