Unhappy Sad Situation

I feel every CrossRoad owners pain. We bought our 2014 before it even reached its model year (Sept 2013). It was pouring full of water before it even hit 2014. There have been so many problems with this trailer it can only be described as a sad situation. The service from the dealer, even under warranty, who just wanted things to "go away" was so poor that it got to the point where we were told to take the trailer home or pay storage fees when they couldn't (or wouldn't) fix it. The countertops, table, vanity, outdoor kitchen have all swollen from the water leaks and humidity. Wood is all moldy under the bed. The trailer is starting to stink. The layout of the 27BH is great but it ends there. Worst purchase of anything we ever bought in 35 years, and it was our first new trailer. Going to design a way to make a sump in the floor to pump out the water from the leaks, and a wooden rack to walk on so you don't get wet feet (and to keep the bedding dry). Okay, the part about the sump is not true but I am making a rack for under the bed to keep the bedding up out of the water. Sad situation. No recourse.

Do you still have the trailer? What have you done to fix it?

Hi FKT, Yes we still have it. No way to get rid of it now. Unable to fix it. Water is coming in somewhere near the front. Positioning the unit tipped toward the rear seems to help. The swollen countertops, etc were replaced but they are doing it again because the humidity is too high from the leaks. Dealer accused us of covering the trailer with a plastic tarp the first year making it sweat. He totally fabricated that story. If it was tarped it likely wouldn't have filled with water. We keep a couple dozen old towels in the trailer so we can keep mopping up or trapping the water, but sometimes we don't get it until the puddles are frozen solid. Also, have had as many as 3 table fans blowing air on the wet spots to keep the mold down. The walls are stained along the bottom (like a leaky basement). Other problems we've had, beside the leaks and the countertops...cabinet door joints separating, water pump leaks, front cap replacement, awning lights, leaks from wall above slide (not from slide seal), wall joints opening up inside slide, and more. Crossroads would not allow us to take it 4 hours away to another dealer. Will never never never buy another new trailer. The 1980 Prowler we had for 12 years didn't leak a drop and had no issues even when sold in 2010. Worst part of this whole experience was the dealership not standing behind what they sell, and subsequent outrageous treatment. Too busy to take them to court, but it would have been interesting to say the least. Hey FKT...you have the same trailer and year. Have you experienced any problem like these, or did we just get a lemon trailer and lemon dealer?

It's a local dealer that changed ownership a few years ago, that is now falsely advertising using the good reputation that the previous owner had for a lot of years.

No not like yours. I had a simple issue with the roof and CR refused to even help me figure it out. Sorry you had so many issues.

FKT...Crossroads themselves weren't so bad if you kept on them. They did send some warranty parts directly to me after the dealer chased me off the lot.

Certainly looks like a moisture problem. There used to be a CrossRoads rep on here that would help, but with the repeat turmoil going on, it appears she has left us.

This is defiantly a crossroads problem . In my opinion ,that unit should be brought back to the factory to do a complete analysis of WHY this happened. Is it a problem with the assembliers messing up or a problem of the line just pumping anything out....You should not have to deal with that crap...And where is Christian now? Sorry for the abrupt thinking, but I was the quality guy at my last job......

That is correct.
One other thing, she works for CR so that means she is off the clock on the week end.
If you want to send her a pm, I feel pretty sure she would get back to you.

I realize this is the weekend but this post has been going on for four pages so far. Has anybody ever go back to the original poster yet. Meaning Christian or anybody from CR.

Cause I don't know the answer.

Unhappy Teak

This design should keep the bedding up out of the water, under the master bed

Since the OP posted about a month or so before Christian came on, I'm not sure it was ever addressed. Maybe now with new posts added on it will be, along with the others who have problems.

I would think if anything CR would like to prove it wasn't a quality issue. They were abrupt and not very helpful and I didn't have major issues like the OP.

Like anything else, there are more negative posts than positive ones.

I will say, though, we looked at the ST's. I decided on a 2nd Zinger just because I liked it and it was on the lot. I don't regret it as it does seem there are more issues, and more serious issues, with the Sunset's than with the Zingers.

At any rate, I'm sure OP is just frustrated like any of us would be. Industry as a whole has quality issues, which is a shame.
