Empty the grey into the black

Just wondering if anyone knows if both the black and the grey are mounted at the same height. We rarely use the black so it stays empty or close to (night time emergencies are the exception). My grey is full and I was thinking of keeping the cap on and opening both valves. I would just hate the little bit of black to overfill the grey into the shower. Thanks!!

Add a dump valve where your cap goes or you will have a mess when you take off the cap to hook up your sewer hose.

When we have this situation, we just dump the grey into a five gallon bucket and pour down the toilet

Interesting. I once thought why don’t they route the gray tanks to drain through the black to help clean it out. It could only equalize if they are on the same level. I guess you could do what the OP was talking about when you dump. Drain the black First, allow the tanks to equalize, then flush out the black again.
Any reason not to do that?
Anyone tried that?
