Question Front storage area

Lowes has lots of storage bins for sale this weekend I was wondering what size the storage door is on the front of these trailers. I ordered a 290BH. I was planning on using bins to keep everything organized.

Its my first trailer so I should also as, is my bin idea a good one?

I try to keep a lot of my stuff in different sized rubber maid bins. I've labeled them so it's easier to tell whats what and which bin it's in. Plus it helps keep the mess contained.

We use a flat bin for our hoses. Our door (on the zinger ) is maybe 12-18" high and 18-24" wide. I wouldn't get anything too big. We found it best to do the organizing after we had everything in front of us.

I found organizing an Rv is a personal thing. What I've seen others do will not work for me and I'm sure the reverse is true. After a few camping trips you'll see what storage bins you will need and will buy accordingly.
I prefer the bins with the side snaps that secure the lid to the box.

Since they are on sale, you might want to pick up a few. Perhaps someone on here can give you the dimensions of their storage. Any of these will work with our Zinger.

When we first packed up, we were so concerned about the location of everything so we made a diagram of all the contents and exact location in the pass thru. As many of you probably know, things have been moved around, etc. so that diagram is out the window.

Good luck.

Scrounged a large plastic ornamental tree container from my local garden center. Great for hoses and or electric cords you can wind right into the container. Keep a rag in one had and it goes in clean and dry.

Thanks Harley ! Used that stuff all around my 3 car garage and have some spare I can use for just that !

to the OP, suggest you get clear bins so you can SEE what's in them for the most part...
labels and all tend to be wrong after a while
or at least colored bins to help remind you what is in there...
maybe black or orange for the black tank stuff...
white for the potable water stuff... etc...

I also prefer snap lock bins and getting 'right sized' bins for what you want to store in them rather than getting big ones that waste space...

Now I do have one large bin - bought it specifically orange and not see thru since I store the spare stinky slinky in it !

We have a 29RL Sunset Trail Reserve and the front basement storage is also directly beneath your bed(and or Head) while sleeping. Just thought you might keep that in mind when you choose what goes in the tubs. While they are decently insulated I don't believe they are sealed well enough to prevent chemical vapors from penetrating into the bedroom/camper.

I can measure our door opening when I get the camper back from service this weekend, but I also ended up going with snap lid storage tubs.

This will show what I did for my front pass through. It has worked very well. I never have to reach in for anything.

We are going on our third season with ours, and we still have no idea how best to organize that area. The one thing I did do was mount fishing pole holders to hold pie irons and marshmallow forks.

I have a unique requirement that storage are needs to hold a 7' camera dolly, so bins don't work for me. I've seen some sliding racks that look like a great idea but I haven't gotten around to building anything yet.

I'd like to find a tub just for storing the sway bars. Tough to find something that's long, not too tall (5 inches or so), and maybe 12 inches wide.

If you have elec stabilizers then you can slide one bar on the top of them on each side. If you are worried about theft, lock the chains or the hole in the bar (depending on which brand of bars)to the stabilizers.

Great suggestion. Thanks. I'll need to do some measuring.
