Leaving to go north this morning in AZ and the slide won't go in. Where are the motors on a 2008 Sunset Trail travel trailer. After an hour, finally found where to bring in the slide manually. The manual has nothing in it to help you in this situation. Anybody know?
Assuming they are regular slides (not dual gear driven Schwintek slides) the slide motor is in the underbelly of the trailer. Have you regularly lubed your slide rails? If they get dirty they can put too much load on your motors and you may have blown a fuse or tripped the motor overload.
The under side of our travel trailer is all enclosed and insulated. Can't be ripping that apart. They have to be somewhere that you can get to them easily. It's a 2008 sunset trail travel trailer with a double slide.
Look for a couple of plastic covers about 12" square. Will have 3 lag screws per bracket each side. Remove the plastic cover and slit the membrane. The motors are above each cover.
There is a hole about an inch and half oppsite of the slide your speed wrench fits into the hole and over a nut than turn the wrench and it will bring the slide in

What Frank said, but it might be a slot cut on the end of the speed wrench and it will fit over a shaft with a pin going thru the middle of it. That's what the slot will fit on.
Ours are inside the trailer - front slide motor is inside the cabinet under the fireplace and the back slide motor is under the inverter box. Make sure they are not wet, ours quit working when the outside shower had flooded the back of the trailer and got that motor wet. Once it dried out, it started working again.
