HELLO, New Sunset Trail Reserve owner

Hello all. Found this forum and just had to climb on board. Purchased a never used 2013 30RE model. Wife and I loved the floor plan. Excited to use it. Being a former Forest River Cherokee owner I was always checking there forum site for info. So now I am here. Again lots of valuable info from all of you. I intend to check it frequently.

A toast to all you Cross Roads owners Happy camping season to all.

I live in the Midwest(Minnesota). Any chance of a Cross Roads Rally closer to home in the near future?

Check your axles to make sure you don'\t have the 3500 lb ones . Mine had to be replaced along with stronger springs as I was bottoming out the tires ...and I was not overloaded. The new models have the 4400# axles. just an fyi

I have to ask, what did CR state for the GVWR of the unit. Anything over 7000 lbs. would most likely be lawyer fodder. I realize some of the weight is carried by the hitch when traveling, but my experience with car trailers, equipment trailers, etc. the GVWR never exceeds the combined axle ratings.

Trailer is in storage , so don't have info , but there was no problem having the axles and springs swapped out . obviously if you don't notice anything wrong ,they won't cal you to tell you . And for orig OP,medic, if you see your front cap with any fade , get it repainted. alot of dk brown are getting painted.....and the 2015's are not brown but beige...hhhmmm

I have the 3500 lb axles on my 290QB which has a 7667 GVWR. Also my tires are rated at 1860 lb max load each (total 7440 lbs). Both ratings are below the GVWR. So are you saying if I call CR they will swap the out?

you have the ultra lite as they call it . even on mine when they calculate the weight they subtract the tongue weight , thus thinking the smaller axles will be good and onn the ultra's will do , but the reserves are o the limit ...in my opin.

I think I am good. Axles are rated at 4400lbs.

I also paid extra to have the outside paint treated and the interior stain protected.

CR MN Mini rally coming in late September. Believe it is in Northfield, MN Have you had any takers?.

How do you tell what the axles are rated. Is something stamped somewhere on the axle?

Did not know there was something stamped on the axles themselves. I was going off the side sticker on my TT. This also gave me a manufacture date in late December 2012. I guess I will have to crawl underneath and take a closer look.
