Help with awning

I just love the way the owners manual tell you about how your suppose to maintain things but don't tell you how to do it. So I need help again. I live in Florida and what happens here is rain and sometimes a lot of it. I want to keep the pooling of water off of the awning. The manual tells me to adjust one side to allow pooling water to drain off. So my question is how do it adjust the awning

Lower one side. Then it will drain off on the low corner.

My awning has spring loaded buttons. You push them in and drop it to the desired height. Now I'm not sure if you can retract it if the are both uneven. So to be safe always even it out before retracting.

My electric awning can be retracted even if one side is lower that the other.
