Hot water help

Do I have the valves turned the right way??? Not sure and do not want to try to heat the water if I do not. I do not have the water connected at the moment. It is 25 and the wind is howling

If by right, you mean will the water fill the hot water tank and not bypass it? From the picture it looks correct. If you turn on the water and can hear the hot water tank filling, then it is the correct way. Don't turn on the hot water heater (electric) until you know you have the tank full of water or you may burn out the element. It's a little hard to tell from that pic so hopefully you can test it and make sure. I assume you have your furnace on and trailer heated or you may risk freezing your lines at 25F. I'd also be worried about your outside water connection coming into the trailer freezing up given your current temps - may want to keep a tap on running very slow to keep water moving through the hose so it doesn't freeze.

Thanks!!! Both valves are turned to run with the hose "open" I think. Probably let it warm up a bit first.

The valve that is in the line that goes between the tank fittings should be closed to fill the tank. Can't tell for sure from the photo which valve that is but both valves are in the open position. To be sure that water is in the tank open the drain plug on the tank.

I would open a hot water faucet to let all air out of the hot water heater to be sure it is filled before turning on the element!

As shown in last pic , both valves should be oriented in same direction ,either both horizontal or both vertical depending on normal operation or winterizing. (at least on every TT I owned or helped winterize.) If one is vert and one is horiz...you have it wrong...

Yes!

Visual works! I went ahead and drained the tank, it has gotten colder today not warmer. Will make sure I have it right tomorrow. Just heated some water to wash dishes and take a shower at the bathhouse (very nice bathhouse here) Sitting in my lounge chair by the fireplace, not to bad

I have to admit, Susan, I'm a little jealous of your camping in your unit . Our is still in Roanoke for its warranty work -- may have it back in a couple weeks. Takes time, I guess.

Fun times will come!

Did they give you a timeline for repairs? I have a few things that need to be fixed but want a in/out date. Is that realistic?

Not so much. The process takes time. They are waiting now for authorization from crossroads. I am having a couple extra things done too. Adding slide toppers and vent covers while it's in.

How long should it take to heat the water?
