How long should the grill hose be?

Just bought a 2014 32fr and the grill that fits on the rear bumper was missing. CampingWorld ordered me a new one but insisted that the LP hose with quick connect ends should only be 4' long. Seems way too short to me. If yours came with a grill and hose, how long is your LP hose?

I have a 300BH, same grill mount and propane connection. I don't think my hose is even 4 feet.

Here's a snapshot of a 32FR I found. Looks to be the same as mine, remember the hitch mount swings around towards the side of the trailer and the connection is like, right there in front of the grill.

I had the same problem with my SF32RL. I have 2 hoses one is about 8 feet long and the other is about 4 feet. The long hose works great for the rear grill but it is actually for the outside stove top. The short hose just about reaches the grill if you bring the grill all the way around to the side of the camper and it will not even reach the stove top to use for that hookup. Somebody at Crossroads doesn't know how to measure. Both hoses need top be about 6 feet long. I ended up moving the hook up for the stove top to the tee connection that is located on the kitchen slide for the inside stove and ran the short hose up into the outside kitchen area and it is now connected all the time to the stove top and slides in and out with the sink and stove top. I can now use the long hose for the grill. No more climbing under the slide to connect the stove top every time the wife wants to cook outside .

I have the 25RB but the gas lines appear to come out about the same place. Mine is 4 ft. The grill must be fully extended to the side in order to reach but does so just fine.

Hello All
I was told that a propane hose should NOT be longer than 12 ft. I was told this by a propane dealer that at the time was making some hoses for me, for a mod I was working on. That is why if you notice all the prefab hose sold at CW and RV retailers are no longer than 12 foot long.

Now that's peculiar. I wonder what the difference is between that hose, and black pipe running the full length of the RV?

Black pipe is much less susceptible to failure or puncture. Standard length propane hoses are normally 10 to 12 feet max and less likely to be run over, pinched, cut, etc. it's a safety thing. Probably a legal thing as well to keep people from blowing themselves up. Lol.

The guy at the propane supplier say that the gas drys the oils that are in the rubber hose. For some reason any thing over 12 foot accellerates the process.
