I de-winterized the trailer(my first time since owning it) and notice that the pump runs for a while when I fill the tank and turn on the pump. There are no leaks, and the faucets were off. I figured it was filling the hot water tank, but I didn't think it would take more than 5 MIn. I finally shut the pump off and thought I would wait tp hear from ya'll.
Make sure you run water thru all out lets, Out side shower is one you might be forgeting, Toilet. I always open the hot water vent as well. If there is air in the system the pump will still want to run a lot as it is trying to compress air and not water. Keep runing the water tru the system.
I agree....run the pump till the faucets have water. You should be able to hear the W/H tank filling. Mine takes about 5-7 minutes to fill all the lines.
Ok Ok, I am a rookie and thus, made a rookie mistake. I didn't know that the valve to the heater and the pump was closed. So, I was pumping air!!! Hello, McFly. Anyway, all is well now!
Thanks.
Glad all is OK now. You may feel like a rookie but I'll bet there is someone else reading this thinking how they need to remember to check THEIR valves. Every post will help someone, sometime.
