Key broke off in lock

on my new ST32RL. Hope I can get it out with some needle nose pliers. I have probably only used the lock less than 10 times if that many.

Alternative is to take the lock off the door and disassemble. Good luck

Taking the lock off of the door is easy and taking it apart is no trouble

Susan, make sure you do not have a recalled lock assembly. On my 2013 the lock broke and was locked out twice by it.

I will do that! I could not stand it and grabbed some pliers and went back over to where it is parked. Got it open but there is something wrong with the bottom lock. I will just use the top one for now.

That's what they recommend. Do not use the deadbolt only the handle lock.

the bottm one ,the deadbolt, probably won't go all the way as it is probably not lined up with the frame . Mine needed a bit of filing of the frame .

The web site of the lock manufacturer has a form to fill out with all your info. After you submit it they will send out a new lock. They also have a video on how to replace the lock.

It was very easy, I had one lock on the recall list and I called the company and they sent the new lock with instructions out that day. They even matched the lock to my front door, so now I only need 1 key to open both doors.

My lock is not on the recall list. It is a 306 I called today but have not heard anything back.

Susan, did you read this on the recall notice.

"Regardless of what keycode is on your
lock, the lock is affected by this recall program
if you can remove the key from the deadbolt cylinder
in the 9 o’clock position after engaging the deadbolt.
To determine if your lock's deadbolt operates properly,
you should cycle the deadbolt cylinder through all of
its operating positions with the user keys. If you can remove
the key in 9 o’clock position while the deadbolt is engaged,
your cylinders need to be replaced with a new set of cylinders
as part of the recall program."

Try it with the door open so you don't break the key. If it is not the problem try filing the bolt like harley said. Let us know your results. Good luck.

Glad they're helping you out.

My new lock should arrive any day now but will not be installed until the weather warms up a bit.

It is 28 here right now, real feel 16
Hopefully go camping a couple of days after Christmas, leave the camper at a camp ground for a couple of days and return New Year's eve. I hope my lock comes soon. I think it will

Susan are you winterized? Leaving camper at campground do you stay winterized? 28 is below freezing will it get colder?
I know this is off topic it just made me curious.
