Life Span of 2016 Sunset Lite 198RB

I read about all the problems listed in this forum and have started to question the reasonable lifespan of my unit.

I am not handy nor do I particularly want to spend time working on the trailer.

I have over 15,000 miles on the TT with about 100 nights. Mostly used in Nat'l Forests and state parks. A two year old TT should still be practically new but there are a lot trailers out there many years older with a lot fewer nights being used.

When is the frig going to break? The furnace already has. How long will the slide out actually work?

What do you think? Am I just looking for a reason to buy a replacement or is there a lot of miles and nights left in this one.

Thanks for you input.

If you’ve spent 100 nights in it with little problems then it’s probably safe to say you’ve got a good unit. I mean things can wear out but usually you’ll see problems right off or most do when they have gotten a bad one. Keep a check on the roof and recaulk with Rv roof caulking if you see any caulk areas where it looks like it’s starting to crack.

That is kind of a loaded question. With proper maintenance it will last many years that is not to say things will break or quit working but I do not know of anything that never breaks. That said my cruiser is a 05 and The only things I have replaced is the converter and A sticky slide switch - the thermostat and we upgraded the worn out awning. Not to bad for 13 - almost 14 years old.

So I would say if taken care of there is a long life ahead.

I agree with dagst.

I also believe the key to longevity is good and proper maintenance.

Mine is 07. We have been living in it for 3 years. Replaced fridge, my fault. Re painted roof. No other major issues. Fix what you see, maintain everything else.

Thank you for the post, The roof is on the list for next spring. I have read here about the problems small leaks create.

Thanks for the feedback.

It sounds like I have several more years of enjoyment with the TT and I will save a lot of money by holding on to it.
