Outdoor kitchen sink drain
Confused! Why is the outside kitchen drain not tied into the rest of the trailers water drain pipes? Any helps or solutions to this issue would be much appreciated.

I have the small outdoor kitchen. It's sink drains into the gray tank that is also fed from the bathroom sink and the shower.

Now if you add that information to your signature, it will always be readily available so we know what rig you are talking about when a question arises.

The 2016 270BH drains to the ground. Which seems fine to me, it avoids filling the grey quickly. Just need a length of hose to run it away from the site.

Where is it draining if not into the grey tank?

Really? In this day and age they have something draining directly onto the ground?
I thought they quit that back with the old tent trailers.

You're right Lloyd! That stuff will get you fined, kicked out of places, etc. The first person who suffers the humiliation, however, can sue the manufacturer for building a machine that transformed him/her into a polluter!

Marty, I get your point. But when you tent camp in places and wash dishes, dont folks just toss dish water into the woods?

Burgy, sure, tent campers do that, and it's much the same when I toss an unused half-pot of coffee into the bushes. But a drain from a sink, connected to a water supply, and spilling out right onto the campsite where someone else will want to camp next, is not acceptable, and hasn't been for years. Yes, back in the Shasta days, people were expected to place catch basins/buckets, and at the very least, toss into the bushes away from the site. But many didn't, and the govt mandated gray tanks in 1974.
All that being said, based on the comments here from similar models, is that this person's situation is a manufacturing error, not a throwback to earlier times.

We took our new Sunset Trail Super Lite 300bh out last weekend for the first time. Same thing, I was shocked to find that the outdoor sink drained onto the ground...

I dont expect to wash tons of dishes out there, maybe hands or a glass every so often. A short section of hose and a 5 gallon diesel jug (clean, never had diesel in it) works.

Do you actually see the drain sticking out thru the bottom or is it leaking out somewhere above the coroplast? In that case maybe it was not connected or came loose.

Its a capped drain plug. You unscrew it to hook up a hose.

Taking your advice. Just ordered a 4' section of hose and drain it into a 5 gallon jug!
