Question Outlets on half of the trailer are dead

OK, so i on our second outing, at 5am in the middle of a rain storm, half of the outlets inside our 2014 Crossroads Sunset Trail 33BD went dead. I checked the GFI in the bathroom and it is fine. All fuses are fine. Is there another GFI hidden somewhere? I have searched high and low and cannot find one. It is very frustrating. Nearest dealer is far and i don't really want to leave the trailer with them because I want to use it as much as possible. Please help. Thanks.

I think you are on the right track. You probably DO have a 2nd GFI somewhere. Normally they are assessable so look in the kitchen area. Generally one feeds the front half and one the back half of the rig. I am not familiar with your rig but be methodical and search real well.

I am leaning for a 2cond GFI. However in a few minor cases, there is a junction box underneath the slide. Some times water will get in there and knock out part of your out lets. Just go under that side and look for a box, remove the lid and checck for water it there is some dry it out and reseal the box

Look above the sink, under the overhead storage.

This happened to us and there was a gfi at the rear of the unit, behind the recliners. Keep looking, this is probably the problem.

CandaRVGuy,

Im sorry to hear you are having troubles. But I have checked around with some of my Sunset Trail representatives and it is quite possible that you only have one GFI. Although, it is possible you may have too, unfortunately you may just have to keep searching. They said to check by all water supplies; kitchen, outdoor kitchen, bathroom, etc.

If you would like to provide me with your VIN number, I can do some more digging and find your exact unit and be able to locate those GFI's for you.

Good luck, and let us know how your progress goes.

So I bit the bullet and called service guy to come out to our park. Turns out there is only one GFI in my unit. However, Crossroads didn't attach the wiring to the breaker that controlled those outlets correctly and the wire from the breaker heated up and melted the protective covering. THe wire was completely loose and not getting good contact. He replaced the burnt piece of wire and re-attached and screwed it tightly. THanks for the quality product Crossroads.

On behalf of CrossRoads, I am SO sorry that you had this issue. This is a QC issue...and is something we are aware of. An apology doesn't negate what you've experienced, by any means, but please know that it is sincere.

If there you experience any more issues at all, please do not hesitate to contact me directly. I'm happy to help in any way!

HMMMM.....Nice apology but if CR was to volunteer to pick up the bill, now THAT would be customer service.
