Picking up a 2016 270bh . Undecided
Hey guys new here . Tomorrow is decision day for me if we're buying the 2016 st 270bh or grey wolf 26dbh . After reading through all the horrors of sunset traIL owners regarding roof leaks , problems with slide outs delaminations etc etc . It made me think twice . Any thoughts if problems from previous models have been fixed or crossroads in general have made improvements . Thanks in advance.

My personal choice would be either a Arctic Fox/ Nash trailer. Not sure if any are close by you. Good luck. We owned a 09 25P trailer. It was great quality. Well built. Will buy another next time.

Buy the one you like the best, take the horror stories with a grain of salt.

Our daughter has a 2015 Sunset Trail 270BH fifth wheel and has had no problems with it. She bought it new last year in April. We have a 2012 Cruiser which we bought new in April 2013 and have had nothing but trouble with it. It's the luck of the draw sometimes. Also, since our unit was manufactured, there have been many changes at Crossroads.

Look for the build date. First of the month is the best. End of the more month they push out faster too meet quotas. My Rushmore and TDG's Rushmore were built the last week in November. Both with lots of problems.

We have the 2016 ST270BH and really like it. We have only camped once so far but it fits our needs nicely. The bathroom is pretty decently sized and I enjoyed my shower (well, except the shower curtain is kind of cheap). But I am 6'1" 250lbs and I was able to use the bathroom to it's fullest and was comfortable in all aspects. Plus enough room to actually get dressed in it.
The bunks are wide and comfy. My daughter slept better the 2 nights we camped in her top bunk than she does at home.
The icool mattress in the front bedroom is top quality and VERY comfortable for any bed not just a camper bed.
The tri-fold couch also, very comfortable compared to most other jack knife type couches. I actually opened it up and slept on it for a few hours in the early morning.
for our family of 3 and my Particular TV I think we made an excellent choice. There are a few negatives(small grey water tank) but I really think the quality and asthetics are much nicer than most other TT's in this style and price range!
Sorry, a little late to reply....SO, what did you buy?

Did you already pick it up? If not. TAKE your time going over EVERYTHING during your walkthrough. Make sure the AC not only works but check all the outlets to make sure they are blowing air. I missed this due to them having it running and freezing cold when we got inside. I never even thought that any vents were not blowing air because it was so cold inside.
CONGRATS!

Look under our Document section, Miscellaneous. There is a PDI list. Should help you.

Just want to give you guys an update , everything worked well and towed amazingly great . Although experienced a couple of problems one minor one major . The awning on top of the porch light was leaking. And the major one was the ac . The ac barely works . it remains 80 degrees and over . Tried everything I can . we left it running since 11 am today got back around 2 pm and still 84 degrees. Any thoughts thanks .

ALMOST EXACTLY like mine! Except the AC works, it is just not blowing to the front 2 vents. So we are able to cool the entire camper down but it would be nice if it worked like it was supposed to...
And I notice the awning leaking in the same spot. There appeared to be a fitment issue with the metal frame in that spot?

Sounds like you have an AC issue. We used our 32BH this weekend at Disney, 95 degrees out and the AC kept the inside at 75 which is what we had the thermostat set on. Also, the slide-out side of the trailer was in the sun most of the afternoons. Ours will cool down within 45 mins after the trailer is plugged in and AC is turned on.

Might be same issue with my Rushmore. A/C on roof not assembled correctly. Was recycling the intake and cold air. I went on the roof removed a/c unit. No divider board installed. Once I installed a piece of wood to keep the warm & cold air separated. 5th wheel started to cool down a lot better. Be ready for lots of saw dust.

Do you have one or two A/C units?
The manual shows 20 degree temperature differential is normal. What was your outdoor temperature when it was around 84 degrees? If above 100 degrees, it might be doing all it was designed to do.
Did it finally cool later in the day once the outdoor temperatures dropped?
