Questions! Help new owner
New owner. Haven't taken delivery yet of a 2014 Sunset Trail Reserve 30RK. I downloaded the user manual but it is generic and doesn't help.
What was the amp hours of the original 12V battery? Need one as the trailer comes with no battery.
The antenna is similar to a Winegard batwing but inside there is no directional control. Is this antenna supposed to rotate? The antenna doesn't fold down like a Winegard but is mounted on a (appx) 1 ft mast.

Most battery boxes installed will hold a group 24 or 27 deep cycle battery. 27’s will have the most amp/hrs and are bigger. You can decide on a wet cell or AGM battery based on your budget. I have a wet cell 27 in my 2013 Zinger ZT260.
No sure on your antenna.

These is one of the seller pics. You can see the antenna if you look closely.
Thanks for the info on the battery. Don't really need much battery juice as will not be boondocking; will be connected to shore power.

Googled antenna. Seems it’s an omni-directional antenna not needing rotating to pick up signal. Roughly 7” high.

I would think this type antenna is used on may Crossroads RV campers. I looked at google and saw a bunch of "omni directional" that look similar. I will probably not change it out as we have a Dish Playmaker & Wally and watch most of our TV shows while camping via satellite. If I do change it out, will likely go to a King Jack directional as you don't have to remember to crank it down like with a Winegard Sensar.

Unless the previous owner had a very good dealer you can bet the battery was the smallest, cheapest thing you wouldn't want anyway.

If you always plug in then the cheapest group25 rv/start battery is good. As for the antenna, it is omni direct and does not turn , just find the antenna booster switsh and turn on when on antenna.
There are no manuals for trailers , just manuals for appliances ,etc.
When in doubt , just ask here...

The owners manual for the 2014 Crossroads RV trailer line is available for download on their website under archives. It is 76 pages of NON SPECIFIC stuff that is of little use. This is common with all RV manufacturers near as I can tell. My last few campers have been Keystone, Forest River, Sunnybrook, Lance... well it goes on and back aways in time and all had useless owners manuals. As noted, the product manuals help some but they are usually not great and I don't have access to those yet and don't know who made that batwing looking thing on the roof. BTW: The generic 2014 manual pictures a batwing (Winegard Sensar) and shows how to rotate it. Go figure.

Just remembered the antenna is a Jenson brand. And I meant group 24 battery not 25..

I have that same antenna on my 2015, and it seems to work pretty well for what it is. I had a Lance with a powered directional antenna, and I don't think it worked as well.
It doesn't sound like you need much of a battery, just get one with a decent warranty.
I strongly recommend a battery disconnect. The camper will kill a battery in a week, even with 'nothing' turned on. There are many parasitic drains in your camper.
