rear view camera

Has anyone mounted a rearview camera on Sunset? Any recommendations on type of camera and monitor? I want it to stay on while driving, not just backup.

If you want it to stay on while driving you need to wire it to your running lights instead of your reverse lights.

Blingo

Look across the top of the forum page at the search box and type in rear camera for a search. Tons of discussions here on the matter. I put mine in last year. Real easy if you go with a good wireless unit like the Furrion. Couple-hundred bucks and and an afternoon to install. I don’t tow without it on . Ever.

Here’s my thread from last May

Installed a Furrion, 100% pleased with it. Originally went with a cheaper unit and the wireless performance was terrible.

X2.

I bought 3 systems on Amazon and they never made it out of the box. All junk. Finally realized you got to pay to play with wireless camera and did my research. before getting the Furrion.

Oddly enough we broke down last summer (trailer battery went bad) and ended up pulling into their headquarters parking lot. I guess the best place in the world to break down is in Elkhart. Lol

It’s next door to the RV museum there

My 2017 289QB came prewired for the Furrion camera system. I went for one of the better Furrion models - bought it off amazon for around $250-$300. It great! Install took 5 minues with a screwdriver (wiring from camper plugs right into camera). Wireless, monitor only has to plug into cig lighter. It's always on. I love seeing what's going on back there on the highway.

I wouldn't be without it.
