what kind of silicone are you guys using to keep the seams filled?

The caulking used for anything touching the roof is Dicor, self-leveling.



For the walls and other seams it's Royal Seal Silaprene 1000. You can go to most RV dealerships, they sell the brand Proflex which is the equal of Silaprene.



It's been debated and there are several opinions but I wouldn't suggest you use any silicone on the camper - Crossroads only uses silicone for the interior in the bath and kitchen.

As Mike saidI also use Royal Seal Silaprene 1000 on the exterior of the trailer. I carry 2 tubes with me all the time. You can buy it at Hahn Systems, 800-686-0502.

ours is a 2007. on the exterior, some of the caulk has small cracks on various locations on teh trailer. does the caulk need to be replaced as soon as cracks start to show. sems like a big job, expecially if i need to do it every couple of years

Iusually check our trailer after every trip and if I see any cracked caulk I just remove that section and re-caulk that area. If the area is small I just clean the old caulk and apply a small amount of new caulk over it. This has worked for me but others may have other methods.

same as Hunter - I play touch-up more then anything else. I wash it twice a season and keep a keen eye on any caulking that looks suspect. When I see cracking or checking in the the caulking I touch up the area immediatly.
