Sluggish slide room

I own a 2014 ST32BH. We were camping for 10 days straight and the last few days we had some rain. So when we went to bring in the slide it moved in a little and stopped. I have slide awnings and they had a scent amount of water on them. I did not try to work it again because I was concerned and we were trying to get home. Once home it was a dash to unload and drop the TT at the storage lot.

Has anyone had this issue? Could it have just been the weight of the water? Also is this a problem, could the awnings be tweaking the slides for the water weight?

I never thought about this when I ordered the awnings. I just assumed they would be added protection for the slides.

Wait, are you saying you moved the rv without the slides fully in ? :-O

the slides don't seal out rain unless they are fully in or fully out... among other issues with moving an rv with slides out

You might:
1) check for obstructions inside & out (on top too )
2) check for low battery charge
3) have the rv hooked to your idling tow vehicle while pulling slides in and out to boost the power
4) have it checked by your dealer...

good luck !

No no no. We were packing up. I finally got it in. I just never brought it back out in fear it would be stuck out for good. One of the last things I do is bring in the slides. The bunkhouse slide went in no problem and it shed the water off that was on the slide awning. When I went to bring in the living room slide it just stopped. We had to back it out and back in to get it to come in. And it was slower than normal. Now a decent amount of water was coming off the awning. I was connected to shore power when I was doing this. I don't even bring out the slides until I'm level much less drive. It.

Got that directly from Crossroads and somewhere on the lippert sight if I remember correctly. It is supposed to sync the motors.

per lippert every time you put in the slides you should hold the button until you hear a clicking noise.

You didn't mention if you were hooked up to shore power or dry camping. After 10 days of dry camping, I'd expect the battery charge to be low and not enough power to pull in the slide. If you were hooked up to shore power for 10 days, then you shouldn't have a problem retracting your slides.

I just had to ask...

MY first time camping with my slide topper I had a pool of water on my slide topper. My slide-out extends out 42 inches. After I returned home I made out of PVC two 6 ft. long by 2 ft. wide spacers to go between slide-out roof and slide topper. They are angled just like my slide topper angles. I keep them on my bed and when I get to campsite I take out my folding ladder and slide them into place. Now I love it when it rains{not really!} the water runs right off the slide topper. No more having a flood of water running down the side of my slide-out when I close it.

Be more specific on this wedge, you've got my attention. Also the ladder you use. I'm looking at a collapsable a frame ladder. It's like an attic ladder we use in the fire service.

I have a 7 ft. Double-sided Rung Ladder that I got from Campingworld.com and I also have a 12 1/2 ft. Expandable telescoping ladder from Amazon.com.

I will work on getting a picture of my Wedge-spacers I made for my slide-out. Currently we are having a major snow storm in New Hampshire so when I can get into my TT I will take one out and take a picture.

Thanks for the info. Sorry about all the snow. We foster dogs here in Fl that go up to New Hampshire for adoption.

My friend use's beach ball's on his slide toppers. He says it keeps them flapping in the wind and works well in keeping water from pooling.

Well I tried the 1 foot and and back in thing but it did not work. It's weird it starts to go out fine and with about a foot left it gets sluggish . Then it comes in maybe 6 inches and stops. I have to take it in and out a few times until it picks up some speed and comes in. Once it gets past the half way point it pulls in like a champ.

you might want to check with your TV manufacturer to know wether your TV will charge your camper battery. I have a 2007 GMC and it will NOT charge my camper battery when it is hooked into my truck. I need to have a modual installed in my truck for that to happen.
