Sunset Trail 250RB Side Panel Damage

Well, the inevitable happened on the last camping trip. I accidently ran over the water spicket at the camp ground backing in. Bone head move on my part as I'm normally very good backing in with the trailer. However, the dealer states to repair would be around $450 for the side panel. The part number they show on the invoice is 538749 which is listed at Kiss D. Bronze. The panel itself is only $57 but freight and labor eats up the rest of the $400. Has anyone else ran into this type of repair on their Sunset Trail?

That'll buff out... j/k. We all make bone head moves at some point. No idea how hard it would be to repair though.

Last week must've been something in the air/water to cause bone head mistakes, see mine. I've towed close to 100k miles in the last 10 years & towed rvs/trailers for 40-45 years & this was my 1st.

If I'd moved over 1" I'd of missed all together, but hind sight is 20/20.

Ouch! Yeah, I wasn't paying attention as I have backed in my trailer numerous times without any problems. I guess I was in a hurry and that's a no-no when backing in. I guess this is going to be a $450 stupid tax I'll have to pay this time!

Angry

Well, here it is almost 2 months later and Crossroads still has not shipped the panel to my dealer. I called the dealer today and said it may be another 2 months according to Crossroads. This is absolutely terrible customer service if you ask me

Anyone on here know how to get ahold of someone at Crossroads or are they on this board? This is ridiculous!

I guess once you break'em you're supposed to trade'em! The body shop that's fixing mine searched a week for someone/anyone that could get the part, it's now been 2 weeks waiting on parts!!! You waiting 2 month is not helping with my patience. Crossroads being rolled into Keystone has done nothing but foul up the whole Crossroads line of rvs, Keystone doesn't seem to care about Crossroads customers.

It's ridiculous is what it is. It's a panel for crying out loud! Had the camper been damaged to where I couldn't use it then I'd be really upset. I'm not trading it in to get peanuts of what I paid for it. Not over a $400 panel.

I'm going to contact Crossroads Customer Service but I'm sure this will get me no where.

You might be better off contacting a auto body shop. I feel certain they could fix it to look as good as new again.

Well, to no one's surprise we are moving in the month 4 of no part from the manufacturer. I have been given these excuses from the dealer according to the manufacturer:

- Part is back ordered due to the acquisition of Crossroads to Forest River
- Part is back ordered due to issues with the supplier
- Part is back ordered due to the hurricane's affecting certain regions

These excuses are getting ridiculous from the manufacturer. I know the dealer can only do so much but this is out of control.

What if this part was on the camper where I could not use the camper at all? I'd be irate if I couldn't use the camper for 4 months.

Anyone have any suggestions? Admins?

Find a "paintless dent remover". they can massage the dent out.

It must be a Christmas miracle! The dealer called this afternoon and said Forest River shipped the part today and it will be at the dealer next week. Almost 4 months later! Miracles do happen!

Glad you're are finally getting it. But Crossroads is part of Keystone, not Forest River.

Kgie 1217, who wa the dealer that did your work? I too have the 250RB. No, I do not need a dealer for repair work. I think we bought our TT at the same place you did.

Bought my camper from Northgate RV in Alcoa, TN in February 2016. Great customer service! I will buy my next camper there again for sure.

Same here. We bought ours in Jan. 2016. Just took it down for warranty service department . They were extremely helpful and friendly. Said they would fix everything under the warranty, but wouldn’t start the work until first full week of January since they are currently preparing for Sevierville RV show. Since I live 2 hrs north of Alcoa, I told them to plan on keeping it when it is ready If I get snow and they don’t.

You are right. They are closed all next week which is why I was hoping to get my camper back before they left for holiday break.
