This will be our first coach and am concerned about the couch that folds down and the queen mattress that folds down on top of it. The mattress is very thin.

You have to remember that you are camping. Not saying you shouldn't be comfortable, but have you slept in a tent or tent trailer? There are many ways to create comforts in your RV, you could look at a blow up type mattress or mattress pads. When getting into an entry level type RV with limited space and size there will have to be some comprimises. I know that the mattresses are thin to say the least. I've already added thicker foam mattresses to the kids bunk beds and a memory foam topper to our queen sized bed. We also started out in tents and have progressed on. Good luck with your decission, and happy camping.

Most people either add or change their matress if uncomfortable.

It's all about weight savings. If you want a good bed you will need to provide one, this is true from a 10K$ trailer all the way thru 100K$ units.

I went to a mattress warehouse outlet and bought a closeout model, I sleep like a baby.

Wejust bought a 2010 ST24BH last month. We have used it two nights so far no problems with the mattress. We did put a foam topper on it. I wasn't sure about the folding bed. My better half loved the floorplan, so we bought. We really do like it, no problems so far.

We bought one of those egg crate foam things and it works great. Light weight and easy to replace if needed.

We bought our 09 ST24BH last month and we've already had it out twice. It is so much better than tentcamping. We have no complaints so far;thisis also our first coach. We looked at many different makes and models and thought this was the best value for the money. It's very spacious and fits our family of four very comfortably. We bought egg crate foam toppers for all four mattresses and that's a bit more comfortable than the stockmattresses. No problems folding up the queen bed or the bottom bunk with the foam toppers. Plenty of room...Happy camping!
