Trailer bounce

Has anyone noticed that the trailer tends to bounce quite a bit when parked with the stab jacks down??? Ours is to the point it is waking up our son when we walk across the floor!!! I've lowered them to the point you just see the frame move up. Do I need more pressure on them or is there something else I need to do? This is also my first trailer this long as my last one was a 26 foot but I did not think 7 feet would make that much if a difference.

Try a set of X-chocks, and a set of stabilizers.
It should take most of the bounce out.

I have the X chocks between the tires and and the lock arm stabilizer bars on the landing gear. It made a world of difference. Here are a couple of links to explain them.

The longer/straighter the stab jacks are, the less stable they are. We cut sections of 6x4, screwed handles on it and then stuck them underneath the stab jacks.

We put one under the back bumper and one as close to under the steps as possible. Really made a difference! And we paid @$100 total for both. Cheap fix to a really annoying problem!

Now you have to remember that is going to vary depending on how and where your trailer is setting.
I can see if you camp where you have a level spot all the time (cement slab etc) it would be good info to have, but if the site isn't level, then that brace better be adjustable.

Lloyd there are two sizes that adjust: 4-5/8" to 8" or 7-5/8" to 14". Just wanted be sure the step wasn't lower than 7-5/8" to start otherwise the larger one I was gonna order wouldn't work. I'm pretty sure the step is at least 8" high, but you never know and I can't measure until tomorrow. Getting a few last minute items for the Memorial Day weekend

I got two of these and they work great. I put one on each side just in front of wheels. It says to put one under back bumper and under steps, but my bumper always seems to be to high and gas line runs along frame behind steps.

I got the taller one. Never parked where it did not sit under the step. I like it. Makes a big difference on the bounce caused from using the steps. I place it just left of center as that seems to be right where everyone steps. I also use a short piece of 2x6 under it when able.

Hi,

I just took care of this problem by instalilng 'extra' stabilizer scissor jacks. When I'm done I will have 8 in total.. an additional 4 from the stock 4. With just 2 extra added, one on each side just forward of the wheels - I can tell the difference in firmness was night and day.

There are a lot of options - as I learned (nearly the hard way) make sure that whatever option you choose to go with doesn't void your warranty, if that's a concern.
