Vertical ridges in exterior skin?

Hi, bought a 2018 222RB, noticed every 4 to 5 feet there are subtle vertical raised ridges in the exterior skin, runs from roof down to trim panel. I realize that it may simply be where the exterior skin is bonded to interior panel, but want to find out if others have seen it...?

Also, when I take it in for any warranty work, will ask dealer.

Thanks!

Welcome to the forum, and congratulations on your new trailer! My Grand Design trailer also has these. There was a discussion recently regarding this on their forum, and it appears normal. It is where the plywood panels underneath meet, with the fiberglass over them, just as you said. Nothing to worry about.

If you ever see bubbles though, then that would likely be delamination. Not something you want.

Often when there is some frost on the camper, my Gorilla frame will stand out on the exterior wall. Seems normal to me.

With the ones I’ve seen, including mine, they’re mostly unnoticeable except at certain angles. I don’t know if you had to work to get the right angle or shade/sun, but yours look really pronounced. If they are, I’m surprised you or the dealer didn’t notice them at delivery. If it’s just a “Good” camera angle and it doesn’t look like that all then time, I wouldn’t worry about it. If it really is that obvious, I would contact the dealer and/or Crossroads.

Dealer says "no problem"... so, that's good to hear.

Its funny that we accept so many oddities in our RV's... if you bought a $25K Honda Accord and it had vertical ridges all the way around it, it'd be a different story

Of course the dealer will say ...no problem . Have him put that in writing so when that very thin fibre layer cracks because the luan wood behind it was not bonded correctly .they will fix it on their dime.

Can you look at any other new trailers on the dealer's lot to see if there are similar ridge's?
They will say it's normal untill you try and trade it in a few year's down the road. Or try and sell it privately. It could drastically affect the value if it start's to crack or separate.

I totally agree with Harley, Insist on getting that in writing from the dealer and/or Crossroads. You have a big investment there and should protect it. Enjoy your new camper.

Yep, thanks, have been in contact with Keystone corporate service rep to "get it in writing" to protect me from future issues with the ridges.
