Very disappointed with Crossroads

We have owned some type of camping rig for over 40 years. Have had a 1960's era Shasta TT, three Class B's, two PUP's, a TC andnow a 2008 Crossroads Sunset Trail TT. I think we are realistic about what to expect from an RVandabout appropriate maintanence. We bought our trailer used in Nov. of 2010 from a dealer. Last year we began to notice delamination on the front and learned that this is very common. We had the roof sealed and hoped for the best as we had no evidence at all of leakage.This month, we have had aproblem with mice (nota new experience with our other RV's), and a pest control technician and I literally crawled all over it. We removedpanels and looked into every nook and cranny. I was astonished. The workmanship in the places that absolutely cannot be seen without great effort and a strong light was awful! This had nothing to do with wear and tear or age of the unit.There were gaps, poor fits, no effort at all to seal obvious holes, etc. Was there no inspection at the factory? Do they not care? We like the size and floor plan of our TT and ittows like a dream. We really don't want to replace it and don't know what to replace it with. We thought Crossroads was one of the better brands. Not so sure now.

Unfortunately this problem is all to common with most manufacturers of newer trailers. Doesn't make it right or acceptable but it is a well known fact. That said most TT I have seen from crossroads have been relatively well built when compared to other manufacturers.

I have had several of our panels and bottom covering off due to issues with our unit. If people saw what was hiding behind these things before they signed on the dotted line they would think twice about it. Once I was into these areas I did my best to straighten out the mess Crossroads left.

It's the old "out of sight, out of mind" scenario. Unfortunately, it's not uncommon to most, if not all, manufacturers -- RV or otherwise.
