Never heard of a vinyl roof on an RV. Most of them are rubber.

From the Trailer Life website:

Quote:
“Traditional EPDM Rubber Roof Membranes have been the industry staple for over 20 years. The flexibility of EPDM allows the membrane to adhere to virtually any roof slope.

Alpha-Ply Roof Membrane To help OEMs achieve their goal of reducing weight in their units, Alpha developed a roofing membrane which is practically half the weight of EPDM. The Alpha-Ply membrane blends the flexibility of an EPDM membrane with the durability of a plastic membrane to provide the next generation of RV roofing.

Superflex Roof Membrane is a state-of-the-art roofing membrane engineered to provide premium performance for today’s demanding RV roof designs. SUPERFLEX Roofing Membrane is an Olefin-based single-ply membrane that is approximately half the weight of EPDM. SUPERFLEX Roofing Membrane is very stretchable and conforms to the multiple contours of today’s RV’s in a clean, chalk-free non-fade membrane.”
RV Manufacturers currently using SuperFlex as an alternative roofing material include Forest River, Crossroads, Northwood and Outdoors RV.

I don't think that website is kept up to date on all the changes Crossroads makes as production rolls through.

BTW The info on what manufacturers use this came from the SuperFlex website.

The documentation that came with my SF270BH says it has an Alpha roof.

Here's what I found out about vinyl roofing (TPO)

RVs will have either EPDM rubber roofing material or TPO (thermoplastic olefin) roofing material.

The term TPO stands for Thermoplastic Polyolefin. Believe it or not, TPO is actually in a broad family of rubber roofing materials. TPO is a blend of polypropylene and ethylene-propylene rubber.

EPDM stands for Ethylene Propylene Diene Monomer. It is a synthetic rubber derived from oil and natural gas (ethylene propylene).

EPDM roofing requires a semi-annual cleaning.

TPO roofing requires no semi-annual cleaning or treatment, but regular washing will aid in keeping the sides of your RV clean.

SuperFlex is a brand of TPO roofing.

Only Crossroad product that list on their online website Alpha system is the Rushmore. But I guess that doesn't mean that they don't use it on other models.

They also use it on the Crossroads Reserve TT line.

On my info it says they use an Alpha roof on ST270BH, unless I'm confused, which is always possible!

Well, from everything I have read on the Alpha roof, it sounds like a big improvement.
I especially like the part about less or no chalking running down the sides.

Dealers really have no idea what's going to go on the Rv roof. Some come in with TPO others with EPDM. Crossroads top of the line Rushmore advertizes the TPO.

Mid production changes occur all the time.
