Trip from Washington to Florida is in progress. Left on March 19th (Sat). Currently in Chekota OK on the 24th (Thur). Hit a lot of snow in the mountain passes and stopped to see the Grand Canyon (really awesome) and had lunch at the Big Texan in Amarillo. Have had to shredded tires on the trailer- so far. That brings me to my question: has anyone heard of/has a "jack" that is basically a "V" that allows you to use the leverage from the axel with the good tire to lift the bad one- getting rid of the need for a floor jack? I am getting really tired of trying to lift the trsiler with my small floor jsck while getting buffetted by passing semi's!!

Look at Wal Mart or Camping world. There is a ramp that I use that alleviated the need a jack. You pull the good tire up the ramp and that lifts the bad tire off the ground. It's also a lot more stable than a floor or bottle jack. Better luck with the remainder of the trip.

It's called a Traileraide at Camping World. I've used it twice on travel trailers and works like a champ.

x2 on the ramp. Cheap, easy, quick and safer.
The Big Texan is good. Ate there a few years ago on a trip to AZ. Did you make the wall of fame??

Made it to FL with no further issues. The Big Texan was delicious- didn't even attempt the 72 oz-er! Had an18 oz steak with all the trimmings. That was more than enough. I would like to find out more about the "ramp" method if anyone can add anything.....

Here 'tis...http://www.campingworld.com/shopping...iler-aid/10867.

Just loosen the lug nuts on the bad tire, then either back or pull (depending) the good tire onto the Trailer-Aid. The bad tire'soff the groundready to be replaced by your spare. It's easy and fast and works where some jacks might not be a good idea because of unlevel ground (from personal experience).Edited by: coastn
