Winter Capabilities

We have a 2007 Sunset Trail 29RL and I'm kind of in the dark at what temperatures the water tanks are safe to. In the trailer description is says "Fully enclosed insulated underbelly with heated tanks and gate valves",

I was just wondering if anyone could tell me what temperatures we can safely camp in, also, the heated tanks and gate valves statement have me confused as I was wondering how they are heated and how that can be checked for accuracy.

The statement, enclosed underbelly with heated tanks and gate valves, is actually heated from the radiant heat coming off the duct work when running the propane furnace. I do not know how cold it can get outside, but I have heard of people camping in at least 3 seasons without issues as long as they run their furnace

We've camped in various rv's in our "winters" down south...

and while some rv's are truly all season IF you are running your furnace,
if freezing temps you have to consider a few things:
for sure a heated water supply line ,
possibly a SAFE auxillary heater in the basement areas,
or at least a 200 watt light bulb to generate some warmth down there...

We are currently camped at Lake Medina RV Resort at Lakehills, Texas, just west of San Antonio. The temp is currently 21 degrees and everything is working fine. The radiant heat from the furnace should keep everything in good shape.

Unfortunately the drought of the past several years in this part of the country has left the lake mostly dry. The lake capacity at this time is only 3% of what the normal capacity should be.

Last year, we were in the Hill Country during this time and it was COLD. It is crazy how winters have gotten colder in the past few years down there. When I lived there, I swear it was not that cold. It is so sad that Lake Medina has gone down so much and seems to miss any good rain.

We have camped in our 2008 29RL in temps down to 17 F. No problems with the trailer, had to unhook our city water hose and bring it inside so it wouldn't freeze but the trailer did well.

We've camped in freezing temps before and everything has been fine. Just make sure you have water in your fresh tank so you can keep going. I also unhook the city water and blow out the hose and leave it outside. If there is no water in the hose then nothing can freeze. I used to bring it inside but just made a mess.
