What kind of wood?

We have a 2006 Crossroads Cross Terrain 40' fifth wheel, and I can't figure out what kind of wood the kitchen cabinets are made of. Also can't find anything like a user's manual. Anyone know?

I think it’s a type of wood veneer which is thin slices of wood that are glued and pressed onto core panels. Some higher end RV’s might have real wood but I think as a general it’s a wood veneer.

My cabinet doors are made of solid oak. Not sure about the cabinet frames. They may be a veneer plywood or MDF particle board - never really checked.

My door fronts are oak, same as Stan's.
All tho, I don't believe the frame work is plywood. It's some other cheap wood that most units have in them for the frame work.

Yep

Our cabinet fronts are all wood but everything else is composite or veneer I expect. So oak? I had thought pine from the color but there arent many knots. Unless anyone knows for sure with this model, that's what I will assume then. Thanks y'all!

I believe it's red oak. With a light stain. Look for the heavy grain in the door fronts.

Cabinet doors, drawer fronts, and face frames are probably red oak...Poplar is a commonly used wood for the body of the cabinet, and drawers, plus pine for drawer runners...I also see they use some faux wood grain vinyl tape in some places...Hard to detect it unless you are up close...IMHO

On our Reserve the cabinet doors are as everyone else says, solid oak frame and a oak veneer center insert. But the cabinets frames are particle board wrapped in a plastic/vinyl to resemble the same color and wood grain of the 1/8'' thick wood panel Thankfully the doors are fairly well built cause everything else is cheap, thin, and light made to look good from a distance..
