I must apologize I did not remember your forum handle from last year's rally...It would make it easier for me to remember if your names were in your signature...As soon as I went back to 2015's lead post I remembered you both...I am not good with names to start out with but even worse with forum handles...Again I apologize and will add you to the lead post, and glad that you are joining us again this May...

Been a LOOONNNGGG time

Hi all,

First post since the fall rally. I worked at Mill Bridge thru Thanksgiving, pretty much every weekend. We did get to camp at Mill Bridge the week of Thanksgiving which was nice except our refrigerator stopped working. I hopefully do not need a new one. I plan on firing it up this week and see if it works. If not, I'll schedule it for the shop.

My truck has been in and out of the shop many times this winter to fix a SYNC bluetooth issue. It does not work in cold weather until the truck has had time to warm up for at least a half hour. It is in the body shop this week because someone hit it in a parking lot and damaged the right rear fender. Of course they did not leave a note or try to contact me. It goes back into the dealer for the bluetooth problem again next week. I am getting to drive a lot of rentals.

This was the winter of my discontent. I ended up having back surgery in January to remove a synovial cyst from between my L3 and L4 vertebrae. It was pinching the nerves going to my right leg causing extreme pain to the point I could almost not walk. Then I had major issues with all of the steroids and narcotics the doc put me on. I was pretty sick and non-productive all of January and into February. I did work at Mill Bridge and White Oak a little bit plowing snow. That was fun except when I got the plow stuck and had to dig it out, causing a relapse with my back issues.

At the end of Feb. I invested in a FLIP, partnering with a friend. Then, last week I bought a FLIP and start demolition tomorrow. Next week I am buying another one so it will be a busy spring. You can see info about all of these on my Facebook page if you are a FB member.

I am hoping to work almost full time at Mill Bridge this year - every weekend. I am waiting to hear from the owner about a proposal I gave to him several weeks ago and will know more then.

With all of this I am pretty sure I will not be able to attend the spring rally. I apologize, but it is unavoidable. I hope to be able to come visit for a few hours, perhaps Friday breakfast. Time and work schedule will tell.

Sorry for the long post, but I wanted to let ya'll know what's happening. I am hoping to make the fall rally if at all possible.

Rick
Sorry to hear about all the trouble you've had over the winter...I guess the old saying is true "when it rains it pours"...We all have had times like that from time to time...Hope your back is doing better now...I know first hand how it feels to have a bad back...The sync bluetooth thats for hands free cell phone calls right.??? I guess that would be important for your business...

Sorry to hear you won't be joining us in May...I was just talking to Mark last night and he made mention that you had not signed up yet, but we both thought you would in the next couple of weeks...As you can see the banter has dropped off some what from the last couple of years....It should pick up as the rally gets closer...Keep us posted form time to time...

Whether or not I am able to attend depends upon my requirements at Mill Bridge.

Move the rally there for next spring and I can guarantee I'll be there!

Sorry to things haven't been going so well Rick. It sounds like you are due some good luck. If it makes you feel any better...my trailer is in the shop again get to g a new pin box plate and fixing frame screws under the cap. We have already had to cancel one trip and may need to cancel a second camping trip due to the repairs process.

I hurt my back at work about a month ago and was stuck on light duty for a week. That healed and all was well until yesterday when I banged my head on the corner of a counter after I picked something I dropped. Ended up giving myself a concussion and am now home for a couple days to heal. Anthony and the little one are doing well, although the little one will likely be attending summer school to catch up as she is struggling in school.

Sorry we can't make the rally. Think of us as you gather round the table! Enjoy the camping season. Stay safe. And Rick, stay positive, things will turn for the better.
