Pam and Swede, Rob posted in August that the dates would be18-20 July 2014. Have you reserved your site yet? I know that the campground lady was taking that information before we left. You should give her a call if you know what site you want. See you there.</span>

I just called the campground and they won't take any reservations for that weekend. We have to sign up through whoever is in charge of setting everything up. Does anyone know who is in charge of the rally next year?

Probably Rob again.

We can't go again in 2014 ...we won't have a TV for our new, larger trailer (Zinger 32QB).

Hello all. I see the Forum is back up, not been on in a while so........ Bit of an update on our status; Had to cancel 2013 rally due to mother with stroke and in hosp. She is now in nursing home and we intended to bring her home and care for her with help of brother and his wife. We are parked in N.E. PA, and hopefully 'winterized', have the underside enclosed with insulated garage door panels, to help keep the wind out and maybe conserve heat. Will be looking into getting a large propane tank to help keep from having to take the 30# ones out for re-fill so often. Going to place insulation on windows, and have two dogs to help with 'snuggle-heat"! I said 'intended' to bring mother home. Mary rented car to go to Myrtle Beach for a weekend prior to bringing mom home, to see kids. While there suffered a seizure, subsequent MRI and Ct Scans showed Glioblastoma, brain tumor. Has had surgery for removal of same, and now will undergo Chemo and Radiation, as well as participate in Clinical Trial treatment, taking a, um, whattaya call it, yeah. A vaccine, that's it. Had a CRS moment there. Anyway, will be 'grounded' for a bit here in the 'Cold North'. We are already talking about different scenarios where we will be able to take off for short vacations while here, after spring thaw. We know we will have to be back here for treatments. Good thing we have a place here to 'land'. Brother and his wife have been awesome. Angels for us. Will be monitoring the rally info, 'just in case', would really like to be able to attend again. That's it for the moment, all y'all take care now, see ya on the flip side!!

Goodness, Ruck, it sounds like you have had some issues this past year. We pray that all will improve for your mom and your wife.

I love the idea of the insulated garage door panels. Very smart. Are you planning on putting a ceramic thermostatically controlled heater under the unit? I saw that someone in Canada is going to do that. Hope you stay warm and safe.

Have considered that, was wondering just how safe that would be, but I guess, as long as it's thermostatically controlled.........
Thank you all for the well wishes!

I'm sorry, I read your post wrong, I interpreted as your mother having all those ailments. I hope your wife can recover well too. Best wishes for her and your whole family.

Ruck, will keep you and yours in our thoughts and prayers. If you are staying "parked" in one place have you considered putting bundles of hay throughout the whole underside, then putting the doors up. The more you can keep cold air from accumulating anywhere the better off you will be. Just a thought, I'm not really an expert by any means. Are you at a campground where you can get fresh water and dump also or do you have to transfer it? Just wondering, I am from the north so I know how cold it can get there. God bless and best wishes my friend.

Travel well,
Jim

Thank you Jim. I have considered bales of hay/straw, but do not want to draw/attract mice or any other critters, reckon I'll look at and invest in a heater. Parked outside my mothers house, ran 4" pvc to sewer clean out, and placed heat tape and insulation over it. Put water hose in insulated foam with heat tape as well. This am the filter at the outlet on house was froze. Took it off (needed replaced anyway, water pressure much better now!!) and used propane torch and trouble light to thaw, good to go now. Soon as I can, will try and post a pic or two.
Mary has suffered two seizures just recently, and has had meds adjusted. Goes to Danville, PA for white blood cell procedure, and will start radiation soon.
Thank you for the well wishes.
As ever,
Dennis, Mary, 'Jake' n 'Tiger'
