Aggravating Phone Calls

I put my jayco on craigslist for sale and have had 2 people that won't quit calling me. One was rv sellers network and I don't remember the name of the other but the premise is the same.

The one with the Chicago number (rv sellers network) just called for the 3rd time and I hung up on them.
The premise is the same:
I have my jayco advertised for 15000, they can get me 17000. Chicago number wants $400 up front, the Las Vegas number wants $299 up front.

I said "well just go ahead and sell it then and take the $400 out of the $17000. I'll tell you what you can even take $1000 out of the $17000."

We can't do that sir.

No kidding.

I've had 2 texts both wanting to buy it. One "woman" is an Ocean Engineer" and is naturally out at sea so she wants my paypal addy so she can put the money in there and send a moving company to pick it up. She's buying it for her Dad.

One "man" is a serviceman and is overseas defending our country. He can't get home and wants to put the money in my paypal account and send a moving company to pick it up. He's also buying it for his dad.

I haven't swore at any of these people yet, but I'm getting close.

Sorry to hear that you are being scammed for your trailer. Just tell them you only prefer to deal face-to-face. If they want to send someone down from Chicago to take a look at the trailer and deal face-to-face you would be happy to oblige them.

Last year I sold my '05 F-250 SD on Craigslist and received a similar call. This guy was claimed to be in the military and returning in a few weeks from service in Iraq. He would write me a check for the truck + $1500 for S&H and my time. When asked him about his service in the military, I started getting funny answers. He certainly wasn't in the military and any check he would have sent me would be bogus too. Just shine them on. It can be fun scamming them back.

I know I'm naive, but what is the scam of those wanting to put money into a PayPal account?

Because they can call PayPal and tell them they don't like what they bought and get there money back unless the money was sent as a gift.
O ya. Paypal like 2% fees to receive money

This is why I create a special email address just for craigslist and I do not put my phone number on there. I had the same issue before I got smart. I blocked the number calling and pulled my number from my ads. I even had one tell me they were from camping world in another state. Be very careful and only deal locally. I don't even answer the obvious scammers. Done carefully it works, I sold my Zinger on craigslist.
