I just picked up Apple TV2 to try and was thinking what a nice addition this would be to the trailer.

Unlike you might think, it is not a television.. It's really quite small (approx 4" by 4" by 1") and very light. It is a device to stream internet content to your television. We already have a Netflix account so streaming movies would be nice without having to carry several dvds. Internet radio. Can order pay for view movies and television shows. If you have i-tunes on your computer and a wireless connection you can play music, video and show pictures through Apple Tv. Pretty slick.

Downside for traveling? Must have internet connection, either wi-fi or ethernet. Must have an i-tunes account, whether you plan on buying anything from Apple or not. You would have to set up the network at each new campground. Not likely but there may be a firewall problem with the campground network. Have to supply your own HDMI cable and your TV would need an available HDMI connection.

That being said, seems like a pretty slick entertainment option in small form factor. Pretty certain we'll be keeping it for use at home. We stream Netflix now on the Wii, but picture and sound quality aren't so great. Sound is incredible with Apple Tv and the picture both fills the screen and is actually fun to watch. Seriously considering getting one for the trailer as well.
