An update- Dad is doing better. He is being placed under "house arrest" as he terms it. He is not to do anything much other than rest. The heart is still in afibralation (I thought that had been corrected but I was wrong) butthe contraction of the heart muscleis much stronger and the dr is hopeful the afib can correct itself. Dad is on coumadin (I think that is how it is spelled) which they hope to get him off of if the afib corrects. If the afib does not correct on its own they will look at "shocking" the heart back into correct rhythm but they want to give him more time to get stronger before they try that. I don't remember if I posted this previously or not but they did place 2 stents in the heart and those seem to be working fine. At the last dr visit the dr told dad it could be 3-6 months before he is recovered. Dad did not like that timeline. He is not very patient and has a hard time just resting and not doing something! He and my mom are both really trying to correct their eating habits. I am really proud of them for their efforts toeat better. So... things are looking better and moving in a forward direction. I truly appreciate everyones prayers and thoughts.

Hey Lonnie let your Dad know that even though he has to eat cardboard I'm trying to make up for it by eatting more bacon every day!

How's he doing?

Thanks for everyone's continued thoughts and prayers.

Dad has a stress test on June 2nd. The results will determine what they do next. As I understand it, if the heart is strong enough they will try to shock it back into correct rhythm to correct the afibralation. Dad seems eager to "get this taken care of" (as he says). His spirits have been up and down. I think that is to be expected. We just pray the stress test shows the heart is strong enough and they can successfully shock it into correct rhythm. I will post an update after the stress test and let everyone know how he is doing.

Thanks,

Lonnie
