Astronomers?

I am fairly new to camping, and VERY new to Crossroads. But I have a slightly longer history with telescopes and astronomy, although I am still a novice. One of the things that my wife and I are looking forward to is going to some dark sky campgrounds where we can star gaze with the telescope. We are going to an off the beaten path Texas State Park next month that is on the International Dark Sky location list. Just curious if there are others of you out there with a love for that hobby. If so, I would be interested in knowing some of the places you love to go to watch the stars.
Happy camping...and star gazing to all.

My daughter (5) and I started looking at the stars last year. We just use the planets app to help us find planets and constellations. She wants to do it to stay up later, I want her to learn something before dad isn't cool anymore.

Good job Coopers_dad. You are exactly right. Get the close times in while you can. And star gazing is an awesome way to do it.

Do landscape timelapse astrophotographers count?

Camping is pretty much the only way we can get away from city lights.
