Her name is Sally. She can get a bit feisty at times!

Pretty cat. Our inside cat is a Maine Coon. I'd never heard of them until this one came on the scene. She's a jim dandy of a cat, though. You never see her unless she wants something, she just does her own thing.

you are always going to have some folks with obnoxious dogs, just like there will always be kids that are too loud and drunken fools that don't understand the 10:00 quiet time and have to be asked to leave by management after numerous complaints in the morning by the campers surrounding the site

people that run their mouths can be just as annoying as a barking dog.

it is all just a matter of consideration.

we have a couple places we go, on off weekends so we are out there by ourselves.

anytime you have people packed in tight like happens so much with the campsites, you are bound to have someone annoyed by something

We've been known to invite the neighbors over when we are outside cooking, drinking, watching football...

because as a SEC alum,
we can be loud when we beat all the high school teams (and each other)

just kidding - no I'm not yes I am !!!

Go Browns..finally a respectable o-line even if Johnny is a backup. Too bad it looks like Dallas is ready to run the table!

John - there was a couple unhooking/setting up, and their dog jumped in the front seat and started beeping the truck horn. THAT was amusing!

We always take our dogs with us and we are very conscious of their "universe". We know them and we understand their needs and fears. We make every effort to make sure that they bring us the joy as owners and others campers have the joy of NOT having to be their owners. So basic dog ownership pretty much handles it. Now, when it does come time for talking to another camper about pets/kids, seems like the opening line is a lot like picking the right pick-up line. You have to read the situation and pick the right approach. Usually the recipient is courteous and responds well. After all, if you don't let them know, they might not realize there is even a problem.

Btw, both of our dogs are over 100 lbs. A Great Dane we adopted and a mix of some kind that adopted us one day.

Please send your owner back to Tennessee! The Haslams are the largest contributors to the Tennessee Volunteers football program, and they need the money. Jimmy's dad, better known as "Big Jim", played under General Neyland in the 50s.

I pull for the Cowboys in the NFL, and it is nice to see them at least competing again. I know how you feel. Now, if the Vols could just qualify for a toilet bowl this year, things will be looking up!

Ah, yes. But, OhioMark had proof that he was on topic, and Tennessee's mascot is Ole Smokey, who is a coon hound. Nothing barks quite like a coon hound. Is that close enough?

My turn! I can't stand unattended, barking dogs. I have camped with mine for over 30 years. They are either leashed and with us, or in the camper. If they start to get vocal outside, we are very quick to control it. I love my dogs, I love enjoying the outdoors with them, but I also understand that it is MY responsibility to keep them from annoying others. At the same time, an occasional outburst can and will happen no matter how responsible you are. A minute of barking from a neighboring animal doesn't bother me, but if it goes on too long, I'll normally wander over and ask the owner if they need some help. When they ask why, I politely infer that since their animal has been barking non-stop for a length of time, they must be really focused on fixing something. Normally they apologize quickly. If they don't, and the barking continues, the Park Rangers are notified. 99% of the time, in my experience, I don't have to involve the Rangers. The other 1%, oh well...

Oh, this gentleman wasn't the least bit polite, and thereby almost caused me to have a temper flareup. I'm a big man, and it is not a good thing for me to lose my temper. Fortunately, I held my tongue, got the wife to stop what she was doing and attend to the dog, and finished up my work. I think he realized after no more problems with the dog the rest of the weekend that he had jumped the gun, because he was overtly nice the rest of the time and even offered me some very valuable advice on removing wet leaves from the awning as we were both getting ready to leave. (Actually, I think he may have been a nice guy that was ordered by his wife to ream me, because she scowled the entire weekend.)
