Campingworld and the American Flag

Marcus is getting quite a bit of press with this. I thought I would post it here and see what everybody thought.

What a crock of s**t. The city of Statesville should be ashamed for wasting the courts time for such a frivolous lawsuit. This world is so sad when we are allowed to even complain about someone being patriotic when so many died for this flag to fly. This is the United States Of America.

Blows my mind how such frivolous lawsuits are even allowed.. total waste of taxpayer money. Oh and if people get offended for flying an American flag in AMERICA, move to some other country and don’t let the door hit you on the way out!

Maybe this is better to read. I tried sending my email to Mr. Smith showing my support of the United States Flag and Camping World CEO Marcus Lemonis. The address came back unable to deliver. Guess I will need to call his office.

I want to start off by saying that the American flag should be allowed to fly ANYWHERE in America. I also received the email from Marcus Lemonis, asking for support. I almost signed it, and decided to wait. Glad I did.

A few days later I read more details what this was all about. If I understand it correctly, the city had passed an ordinance sometime in the past, which included where and how large flags can be. Specifically near highways. Camping world applied for the flag permit and was approved. The size limits were very, very large by the way. Camping world then installed a larger flag than what they were permitted for, larger than the maximum specification.

I’ve had my concerns regarding their CEO, Lemonis, for some time now, but I’ll leave the political stuff out, as well as unethical business practices. What I see here is a public relations stunt at the expense of the American people. He could have, and should have installed the correct large flag. Why is he immune to the rules?

Like I said, no one, no one can tell me to take down my American flag, but I also follow the laws. If he doesn’t like it, try to make changes, don’t misrepresent what occurred.

Here’s an article with more details...

Being that they fly the same size flag in 180 some other cities I do not see this as a publicity stunt. If the flag was too near to roads, or air travel I could see the cities point. But it's not. So as far as I am concerned, LET THE FLAG FLY.

It looks like Statesville is going to make an exemption to their muni or county codes, and allow the large American flag to keep flying. I love the big American flags, and hopefully they change their codes.

They don’t fly them at any store in Colorado.

As far as Camping World and their CEO are concerned they can suck it. Worst service department I’ve ever experienced. They damaged our trailer while it was in the shop for warranty repairs. They ran it in to a building when they were bringing it out to us. Second experience of yard damage.

It cost $4500 dollars to fix their sh$$y work.

They’ve taken no responsibility for the damage.

I won’t spend one dime with them and hope the CEO goes to jail.

Not to derail the post but he has alienated a lot of people with his political views including me. I will also second the previous post on the Colorado stores and have had the same experience.

I think this is all a stunt on Lemonis' part, to try to bring back the political right side. Remember two years ago, when he said he didn't want Trump supporters as customers?
That was the first hurt.
Lately, CW has been exposed for a lot of bad dealings on YouTube. Check out any of the RV Wingman's videos. Find the series by searching Camping World Exposed in the You Tube search bar. The series is called the RV show USA. The site explains the dealings, brings in other experts, and is advising all to yank their Extended Warranty (and they tell how) because they feel such warranties will be worthless if/when CW files bankruptcy, which they believe is happening. I checked mine, and on a 72 month program, I only have about 20 months left. I may keep it, or might cash it in if things look worse.
That's sting #2
To me, this guy looks and acts like a weasel on The Profit. He (in my opinion) is playing a shell game moving assets and re-labeling them as Gander. That's sting #3 for me. I've found a better dealer for service and my next purchase.

Haven't shopped at CW since Marcus said I wasn't invited after Nov 2016.

No loss.

🤔

Finally a reason to agree with Marcus Lemonis, but still not enough reason to buy anything from Camping World or any of it's affiliates!

I posted this elsewhere but... here it is again.

Two sides (at least) to this story. The flag regs in Statesville specifically apply to flags within 100 feet of the highway - which this one is.

CW applied for a permit for an exemption to the existing size regs and received it but then didn't like the new expanded parameters so they put up a larger flag anyway in violation of the order. Seems a bit entitled to me - I obey the law and expect others to as well. It also reeks of a publicity stunt on the backs of vets who served to support our laws.

https://wsbt.com/news/nation-world/c...ue-to-its-size

Just my (probably unpopular) opinion...
