Tim, Sorry for the delay. There is very little wifi at camp.
In YNP you can abide by the laws of the state you are in. Idaho, Wyoming and Montana are open carry states, but discharging a firearm will be another matter. I've been told that if you have a permit to carry concealed for the state you are in then you are legal. (here crossing the state line can happen easily) Frankly, I worry more about 2 legged critters than the 4 legged.

No problem Dave. I knew it would be controversial but was curious. I agree that the 2 legged critters can be more worrisome. Be safe.

snowing now

After a day out of the park we returned on September 11th to see a huge smoke plum that was coming from a new lightening caused fire named the SPRUCE fire. It didn’t take but a few days to reach 2500 acres and each day a huge column of smoke rose up and then laid down at night. On the 14th the wind was blowing on our direction and as the rain started to fall the acrid column of smoke descended upon camp. The RV’s interior was rank as we closed it up tight and started the air filter and candles. It rained most of Tuesday and Wednesday and now the air is clear except for the SNOW that is falling.

Snowing already? That's amazing. I've been to YNP twice, both times in Aug, will be back next summer.
