Direct warranty claim

Has anyone ever submitted a claim directly to Cross Roads for a warranty item or do I have to go through my dealer?

One of my awning motors is shot. It goes out, but then coming back in it skips. I don't want to take my 5er to CW and loose the whole summer while they figure out what an awning is. The other piece is a switch for the electric stabilizer legs.

I don't care about the labor costs, I just want the part to swap out.

Ive tried to submit a claim directly to Crossroads and was told to contact a dealer or in my case Camping World to have any warranty claim submitted. There's no dealers anywhere near me so I use Camping World for all warranty work.

Contact Tiara RV in Elkhart Indiana with your vin# & they can most likely get you fixed up with parts.

Great thanks guys. It took Camping World 6 months to get a set of LED awning lights.

We were living in our trailer after the house burned and the water pump failed. Couldn't move the trailer or be w/o it. Called CR and they authorized a mobile tech to do the work. I paid for the work, submitted the claim to CR and they reimbursed me. But I have my doubts that CR would be so flexible today.

I think they will reimburse for a mobile tech. When I bought my 5er from CW, I had every intention of using a mobile tech, paying them and submitting a claim. Camping World will keep your camper so long you lose have the season. Here in New Hampshire we have mid-May to mid-October. Most don't know they have a problem until early to mid April. CW is busy pushing out new units, my unit could sit until 4th of July waiting for them to change an awning motor.

I can change the motor if they send it to me.

Well they might prove me wrong the next time but CW of Statesville NC has always gotten me in and out quickly usually the same day. From slide motors to replacing entire awnings. Hope I didn't jinx myself.

At one time they would send parts directly to your house , but cause of new rules they need you to go thru a dealer. I had some stuff sent then when front needed painting they needed the paperwork to go thru a dealer or any dealer that gets ok'd with them.

I'll do you one better.

I actually had warranty work to to replace front cap (my old 2011) scheduled and performed at Crossroads through customer service. I never once talked to the dealer. That was a long time ago unfortunately.

Stupid question, Can you just order it through Camping World Chichester and pick it up there to do your own work?

I'd bet no. It could effect potentially remaining warranty claims (if a customer doesn't install the parts correctly) and the service department lives off the warranty service revenue from the manufacturer.

But worth asking. Maybe take a pie with you[emoji846]

And Crossroads lives off of not backing their stuff. Camping World extended warrantee lives off of denying claims!

Just saying.

On mine, when it was still under warranty, I contacted CR rep (she has moved up or out, but no longer there) in Indiana & with their approval I bought the parts needed from local sources, installed myself, & sent receipt copies in for reimbursement, then in a couple weeks I got a check in the mail. Being fulltimers I wasn't able wait weeks or months while some dealer was "waiting on parts" that they hadn't ordered yet.

Alas,

Those days at Crossroads are long, long gone along with most of the reps we have dealt with in the past.

The story I heard is that when Crossroads dealt directly with customers, the dealers were complaining because they were losing the service revenue.

It really stinks, because I was so excited when after took delivery of our first trailer and noticed the towel bars were missing...called Crossroads and had them in my mailbox within a week. Heck, they even sent me a couple free tubes of the beige Dicor because at the time, it wasn't available retail.

Sigh.,.those were the good ole days
