Best of luck with your new unit. Unfortunately for you, it has been an interesting and engrossing thread to read. I really hope your TV issues straighten out in the very near future. I too am having TV issues that started right after purchasing (and towing) my unit but they, as far as I can tell, are unrelated to towing. I just had to have a new power steering pump and rack put in and then a new alignment. Once that is done, hopefully on Monday, I need to take it to the exhaust shop to get a crack welded shut. I too own a ford, although mine is not a diesel.

I'm starting to get the feeling that Fords throw temper tantrums once they learn they will be towing something....

Thanks for your service sir.

Got my power steering pump and rack fixed/alignment done only to find out I have a exhaust leak in my manifold gasket....

On a brighter note, I have a lifetime warranty on my truck which is nice considering it would have cost me a total of 6 grand in repairs up to date including 1250 for the power steering issues and another 600 bucks for the gaskets.

Wonder why it is so easy and quick to get my truck fixed on warranty and it's like pulling teeth to get it done on the RV....heck, they even gave me a loaner from the dealer to drive around. When I asked my dealer that about the RV, they just laughed at me...

Haha. I'm scared to even begin on RV warranty repairs, Greg. Glad to hear that you are getting the right treatment from the Ford guys.

The truck did great on its maiden voyage. There are a few drips of oil on the bottom and the oil level stayed where it should have so it didn't spring any major leaks. I have to move the unit again on Monday so after that I will be calling the dealership to come get the truck for what will hopefully be the final fix.

Sounds good man, hope all goes well with it.

So just had the exhaust manifold gaskets replaced. The Honda dealership that I have the lifetime warranty through is absolutely awesome. They couldn't pinpoint which gasket was leaking, apparently there are 4, so they just ordered four from ford and replaced them all. The total cost of repair was $968. Warranty covered it all.

On a side note, I looked at trucks this week and found a Ram 3500 dually at a Hendrick Toyota Scion dealership. It was a 2012 with 51k miles on it and they were asking 36k. Of course this peaked my interest so I test drove it. All seemed good and I could not figure how they could be selling a newer, relatively low mileage 4 door diesel for so cheap. I decided to have a gander underneath.....Soon as I got under it, WHAAM!!! got smacked in the eye with a drop of oil. Once I cleared my eye, I saw that the whole underside was covered in oil. I slid back out, let the salesperson know what I found and walked away. Of course they said we can and will fix it before you buy it, but I just got that lemon feeling in the pit of my stomach. The truck had previously been owned by a construction company and who knows how much abuse it had put up with, but either way, it shouldn't look like a busted oil rig at 50k miles. I want a diesel, but nowhere near that bad!!!
