For you guys that like running lights on your TV

I purchased a set of 62 inch Recon Big Rig Ice LED lights for my truck and installed them last night. If your like me and like running lights these LED light bars are pretty sweet. They wire into your headlights so they come on with the lights, they blink with the turn signal and they turn white to light up your running boards when you open the door. That was the hardest part was trying to find the wire to the dome light to tie into. Didn't know if anyone else on here has these installed on your truck. Here's a couple pics in the garage so not the best.

Looks good. I've looked at them before but I was going to install AMP Research Power Steps so I didn't pull the trigger on them until I knew they would work with my steps. Now I may wait until the next truck since I will probably hit 160,000 miles in a year and a half and I usually trade up my truck at that point.

Are there any "Legality" issues with these??? Having white lights on the side of a vehicle that are on all the time at night - normally lights must be red or orange. Just curious.

Maybe I am misreading this. Are they not white all the time?

Any police out there that can maybe answer this question about legality?

They look amber to me in the top photo, and white in the bottom one.
So the top photo must be running and signal lights, and bottom photo must be when the door is opened.
Whether they can turn color, or there is two light bars in them is the question for longhauler.

Bottom pic you can see dome light on. If not mistaken, I think he also happens to be a LEO so I am betting it's legal.

Looks like the lights are amber until you open the doors. See attached link http://www.ebay.com/itm/Recon-Big-Ri...-/230587255488

So maybe they are amber till you open a door. That's better than always white. I figured the pictures on the previous page were the same color with different camera settings or flash settings.

Sorry if I have mislead some readers on here. The light bar is always yellow until you open one of the 4 doors then they change to white while the door is open. Then after closing the door light bar fades back into yellow. I paid $145 bucks with free shipping for them a little pricey but I like them, they were an early Christmas present

There is just a little different in price. You paid $149 and the price on ebay was $1,148. Wow

I really like those and would like to install on my '14 RAM. Would you share where you found the dome light wire?

No need to apologize longhauler !

We still have permission to spend our money on the things we want (so far!) but give it another two years, that may change when the 'village' decides differently

I like 'em ! We had something similar on one of our Ford Excursions, even had one of those line-o-fires on the back just in case they missed the 8 foot high 22 foot long behemoth in front of them !

James.....I think that price on EBay includes more LED lights. I'm pretty sure that is for a package.

Denny.....I took off the front driver side pillar cover and used a test light to figure out which was the dome light. Not sure if it would be the same on your 14, but the wire was all yellow if that helps. Then I found that same yellow wire under the dash on the driver side and ran my wire through a rubber grommet. Here's the link to them http://jdautoandtruck.com/recon-big-...ts-26414x.html I searched all over online and they were the cheapest that I found. If you have any questions please feel free to ask away.
