SJ- i had to teach my college roommate how to pump gas but then again I had to teach her how to boil water and how to make coffee (and she is the Jersey girl that introduced me to my DH). By the way what part of south Jersey are you in? I used to live in south Jersey (Collingswood, Voorhees and Deptford), and I used to work in lovely Camden. And yes I know where the 609 comes from in your user name.

Aileen,
I don't mess with any girls.
Lindy is a red neck mountain girl, very quiet, but don't cross her.

I really enjoy the change of season, and don't mind when it gets cold out. I worked outside for 30 or more years, so kinda got used to the cold weather and learned how to dress for it. But NOT this winter VORTEX it is even a little toooo cold for me.

Aileen
where did you get the snow for the picture? Ice cubes and blender??? Ha Ha

Aileen, totally love that. It is 16 degrees here with almost 4 inches of snow. Yeah, I know that is a lot less than the folks up North got but this is unusual for us.

Tommy, Larry had all of his insulated Carhardt clothes (overalls, coat, boots and stocking cap) on yesterday to clean the snow off the vehicles. When he came in he said he really knows why he retired from working on heavy equipment in the winter! He looked like a tan Pillsbury dough boy!

Actually this stems from the way they handle school closures down here. Roads have been bone dry for 2 days. Schools closed yesterday and 3 hrs late today. Also this weather is non camping weather, I'm ready to go back out. By the way the pic is one I ripped from facebook.

Glad to hear that Larry is getting around. I'm takeing it that the hip is mending well. AND YES if you work outside in the winter you learn to dress for cold.

Aileen
I think you will find the farther North you go the better they can deal with snow, ice and just plain old winter weather, because they have to deal with it more.

Tommy I know, I have actually lived in Michigan, Maryland and NJ. I think that's why I'm so frustrated. If they only dealt with it every few yrs I would understand but we get about 3 or 4 winter storms a year. To give you an idea of how frustrating it is, we had a half inch of snow tuesday night. The sidewalks didn't even have anything stick to them. No school wednesday, 3 hrs delay today and 2 hrs delay tomorrow. Argh. Thank god I have wonderful neighbors that watch Jocelyn for me when this happens. And I get to pay them in wine and beer.

SJ- I still carry an 856 and my DH still has his 609. And yup I know exactly where egg harbor township is.

Just saw a piece on the news, that said it is colder in the Northeast U.S. then it is in Alaska.

We totally hear you, Gary and Angela. We thought retirement would never get here. Then we had some medical issues that put the brakes on our plans.

Not sure of how old you two are but you will be in our ranks one of these days. Although it is great, it does take some adjusting to get used to.
