Looking to hear from anyone that has the Hypertech Max Engery installed in a 2007 Chevy 2500 LT GAS. I have done some research and seams only about 14 to 18 hp gain for $350 is it worth it. Oh about 41 ft lbs of tork. Please you diesel burners don't hammer me I know what your gains are.

Just a thought, You might go ask your local speed shop. Most have dyno's and some can even tune your truck for just what you want it to do. Most can do up to four programs and you just dial the one you need at the moment. It would be about the same price. I'm thinking your going to have to run better gas if your going to start messing with the tune.

The one advantage the programer might give you would be the ability to monitor your injector pules , duty cyles , 02 sensors and a host of other items. I'm not sure if this programer does this or even if you would be interested in it. These new cars have a ton of things you can do to them.

I know it is not the same product but I have a Superchips Flashpac for my wife's Hemi and it woke her truck up. She can tell if I go out and install the stock program and will complain until I put the tune back in it so programmers for gas trucks do make a difference just not to extent they do on a diesel. Hers has three tunes that run on 87, 89 or 91 octane. I have hers set to the towing tune which runs on 89 octane but she uses that octane even in the stock tune. I paid about $350 for hers and she will tell you it is worth every penny.Edited by: Hunter11

I have the 6.0 gasser and have been thinking about something like this. My problem is most of the comments I've read are not real encouraging. A few say they can tell a difference but not very many. Even with the K&N style of air filter, most see no change in performance or gas mileage. If I'm going to spend the money I want something more than what I get when I press the tow/ haul button. And to get that it means big $$$......intake, headers, heads...........oh my!!!

Keith, What do the tunes do for your wifes gas Mileage ? I imagine if she is like me the tune would make me drive a little more aggressive and it would probably show on mileage.

I'm scared to put one on my truck

I have some friends who have EFI live , and I forget what the other is. You have a lap top and can change every thing at any time.

She gained 2 mpg on the highway but she likes the throttle response and firmer shifts more than anything. Her truck responded the best to the towing tune over the economy or performance tune.
