RV Death Spiral?

Here is an interesting article:

http://rvdr-cdn3.appxtreme.com/wp-co...ompilation.pdf

If you read it online (as opposed to downloading it), there are some links that work.

The author discusses all aspects of the RV industry from manufacturers, suppliers, dealers, campground owners to even end users (that would be us) and how each is playing a part in the upcoming demise of the industry. It is interesting reading.

I came upon this through on online RV newsletter which I read called RV Travel. Go to RVTravel.com. A newsletter comes out every Saturday and is both informative and entertaining. I have had the opportunity to meet the owner, Chuck Woodbury several times. He is a very personable fellow.

It would be interesting to get some opinions and input from some of the forum members on this issue. Chuck has talked a lot in his editorials about the lack of quality in RVs today and the lack of campgrounds.

It appears that the lack of quality in the RVs is rampant among most brands, so if you ditch your problem RV and switch brands, you could be jumping from the frying pan to the fire.

We saw a Montana we like at the Tampa RV Show a few weeks ago, but right now we cannot justify spending a lot of money to trade. Besides, in spite of the problems we have had with our unit, we still really like the thing.

It's an interesting read, however. I read it over two days.

Very interesting so far but haven't finished all yet. Was going to print it out but when it said 63 pages I decided not to print.

Every RV'r has a story to tell when it comes to warranty repairs, both the good and the ugly. Our 1999 Forest River was great until it started splitting apart at the back rear corner (Is that daylight I'm seeing along the joint between the rear panel and the left passenger side of the trailer?) Our 2013 CR STR 5th Wheel has major slide issues. I figure my extend warranty will pay for itself over time. When you build a slide and it is not square and straight and neither is the opening that it slides through, what do you expect.

Good article. RV'g is still a fun life style!!
