Frank, where do you retire for the winter? Florida, Texas or somewhere else? Just being curious. Glad to see that you are staying warm for the winter.

Too funny, Lloyd. Do you go South for the winter? I recall that quite a few of the rally folks do go to FLorida or Texas.

Thanks to all you Northerners for sending the snow flurries our way. It is too early for that stuff here.

It usually waits until Jan/Feb.

Well, here in Central Illinois last night we saw our first snow fall, but only about an inch. I didn't want to do it, but I winterized last weekend which I'm glad I did since it got down to 19 degrees last night. I'm ready for March already though, we are going down to the Golf Shores for a week. Lets up for a safe and quick winter.

This is definitely the Richmond, VA reaction to any possibility of snow.

No, thanks. Please keep it above the Mason Dixon line.

Jean, down here they don't even need to see the snowflake to close school, just the mere threat of a dusting and schools will be closed for 4 days (day before, day of, and 2 days after).

A great example of how they don't know how to handle snow down here.... a couple years ago we had about 3 or 4 inches. I drove the half hour to and from the hospital where I worked. Not a single snow plow on the roads and the roads were never pretreated. I did see 5 snow plows sitting at 1 exit though. And the hospital didn't want me to go home because they were afraid I wouldn't make it back in, I just laughed and asked them to call me when they knew who would need a ride back into work with me later that night. Then last year we had a dusting and nothing stuck to the roads. I passed 2 snowplows that were following each other in the same lane with blades down and sparks flying. I steered as clear of them as I could, just shook my head and went on to work.

Aileen, I know what you mean. Growing up down your way, we went to school in the snow.

It seems that the "snow budget" must be used. Similar craziness up here but we have to say that NC has better maintained roads all the way around.

Jean my problem is growing up with a dad in the army, I lived in places like CO and MI although I learned to drive on icy MD roads. Snow and ice don't stop me, they just slow me down.
