Texas rain?

How are you Texans fairing out down there?
Who is getting the much needed rain, and how much has been dropped?

Although not everyone is getting rain some areas are getting some much needed rain. Some areas, like San Antonio yesterday, are getting more than they need at one time. The good side to that is that maybe some of the lakes and reservoirs that have been extremely low will reap some benefits. We live just east of College Station and have received a little over 8 inches in the past two weeks. After the drought we have been through I hope that it continues through the summer months.

Three inches here since Friday, which is great. But it will take much more to have any impact on lake levels. As I recall, Lake Travis is at 31% of capacity. Some of the owners of lake front property are having to mow the 'lake shore'.

I seen on TV that there was some pretty ruff looking weather that has been going thru down there. I figured by the looks of it you both would be getting some much need precip. Now if mother nature will only continue to dole it out thru the summer that would be great.
Right at the present time, we have plenty of precip. here, but I hesitate to say that because things can go the other way in a hurry.

We are still waiting for rain in Texas Panhandle. We have had about 3/4" of rain this month. It is looking like another dry year

I am camping near Kerrville Texas, and we have had a fair amount of rain for the past few days. I think San Antonio has gotten much worse. We are just having to contend with mud in the campground and cars getting stuck in the parking lot. I am at a music festival so lots of cars in the parking area. We are ready for some dry weather though.

Don, where are you camped? We were at Buckhorn Lake Resort outside Kerrville a couple of weeks ago. We had some bad weather when we were there.

I am at the Kerrville Music Festival on highway 16 between Kerrville and Medina. The "camping" is really just a place to crash when you get tired of the music.

We have had some good rain here in Fort Worth, not the flooding like San Antonio has been getting. They are forecasting more rain mid week.

We hope anyone needing the rain gets it soon but we have had and are having a terrible year for rain as some areas are flooding and people being evacuated from their homes. It seems someone made the gods mad as all over the place the weather is different and causing problems. Either non or too much moisture. Good luck to all of you and may your summer be a great one.

My place is in West Point, near La Grange. We had some decent rains in the spring, but along came summer and it's only rained a couple of inches since April. I had my cattle on green grass for about a month before it played out and now theyvebeen on hay since May. Been like this for the past three years. We are praying for some fall rains so we can get at least one cutting of hay before winter. Ponds are down and dropping about 3 inches a week.

Funny, around Columbus/Sealy (35 miles away)it's nice and green and they are working on their 3rd hay cuttings.

If yall know of any good affordable hay, please let me know, cause prices are starting to go up already. Started off the season paying $45/round bale, now up to $60/65 and rising. Sure aint making no money on these cows.

I just talked to a customer in Missouri and he asked about the weather, told him 102 and he replied 79 at his place then asked about rain, he's had 9" in the last week. ARRGH
