Hello,
I am wanting to add a 2" receiver to my rear bumper (2016 Crossroads Cruiser CF351MK 5th Wheel). I purchased bolt on receiver and have mounted it in the center of the rear bumper. The rear bumper is bolted to the frame. I am wanting to front wheel tow my Honda Goldwing Trike which would add less than two pounds tongue weight. I have read all the horror stories about bike racks and bikes sprawled across the roads and damages to people and cars from the rear bumper braking off.
Question, does anyone make a frame mounted bolt on 2" receiver hitch that will fit the rear of the Cruiser? I would feel a lot safer with a hitch bolted to the frame. I have searched the archives and did not see anything.
I did notice when looking under the bumper that the frame does have a series of holes pre-drilled in the frame.
Any help will be appreciated. Thanks
for something like that ,you should have a welder make a hitch to the frame. someone will chime in with a hitch that is a bolt on but I cannot remember where from.

I agree, have a welder make one to the frame. I wouldn't feel comfortable with a bolt on unless it was specifically made for it; which it won't be. Trust me have a welder custom make one to the frame with a 2" reciever.

We had our RV dealer design weld up a 2" receiver so that I could haul a Honda CB200 on the back of my 5th wheel. The receiver is welded to trailer frame between the trailer's I beam frame. It is also gusseted the receiver so there is no lateral sway or flexing of the trailer frame. So far, it is working fine.

Thanks for the information. I guess I will find a weld shop and see what they can fabricate to weld to the frame.
With that weight (and money), I agree, I would rather have a custom built receiver welded to the frame camper frame.
Perhaps a second option that is cheaper. If you bumper is solid, use safety struts (amazon etc) to add brackets to your bumper bolting through your frame. I am installing mine in the next week or so.Then throw the hitch receive on your bumper.
We have a 2011 RLX fifth wheel. It came from the factory with a 2" hitch installed and a 4 pin elec. connector. I just ran out and looked how it was attached. Welded to frame, doesn't even touch bumper. I've towed a utility trailer with kayak, bikes, chairs and odds and ends. Solid as a rock.
We purchased a 2012 335SS a few months back and it has a 2" receiver hitch on the rear. It appears to be a factory made hitch and it is bolted into the frame and doesn't attach to the bumper. I have photos if you want to see it, send me a PM .
