2016 sunset trail blinker question

The question I have is concerning the driver's side turn signal. It simply doesn't work. This bulb does not flash when I turn on the hazard lights either. However the tail lights do work and there's only a single bulb. I thought it might be an issue with a fuse but after looking in the fuse box I did not see one for turn signals.

What else should I be looking for?

There are two elements on the bulb, one for tail lights, and one for turn and hazard. Maybe one of the elements is burned out. If you take the bulb out, you can check them with an ohm meter.

Agree. Just take the bulb to any auto parts store and get a new one.

Oh, sorry to not have mentioned this in my original post. The passenger side has no issues so I switched the bulb over and had the same result.

Still no driver side blinky

Oneeyejak, hopefully it is the bulb, easy fix. If it isn't, I once had a tow vehicle that the wire that went to the trailer connector on the back of the truck for that turn signal/hazard to the trailer was cut, have no idea how. If you have a tester and your up to it, you can check the voltage at the light socket on the trailer to see if you are getting 12V at the socket, if not, you will have to start tracing it back.

Try a different truck to see if the different truck makes it work . That way you can narrow down between your truck or trailer. There is a fuse under the dash for the signals. Does the brake light work? It uses the same part of the bulb as the signals.

Clean the contacts on the connectors. They may be corroded. You can also run a jumper from contact 4 to contact 1 (as shown in the attached picture) on the trailer connector. That should turn on the left brake/turn signal light.

I just got a 2015 and the directional signal (driver side) didn’t work. Nor did the emergency flasher. Check the electrical box on the inside rail of your trailer. You should have a yellow wire from your trailer plug going to a yellow/white wire which is your left signal/flasher. That was where my issue was. Switching the bulbs as you did eliminates that potential. If there is no problem there, check the tow vehicle with a meter, then the trailer plug. Good luck.

Thank you for this explanation. I hope other members will also get benefited from it.
