I bet you are right as the inlet is usually in the back of the trailer. I was down on the coast a couple of weeks ago in a state park that had big rats and big alligators. I got a rat in the underside of my trailer that chewed a hole in a couple of my fresh water hoses.
If I had not had to work under my trailer repairing these hoses I would not have known about the tank issue until it started leaking. I hope this deep abrasion does not start leaking as I'm sure it will mean tank replacement, not repair.
Just really bugs me that they could have stuck a piece of 1X4 in there as a spacer between tank and frame and it would have never happened.
