50 amp cable connection

I have a small problem connecting 50 amp plug to the trailer. The plug will slide in OK but will not turn to lock. Anybody else have this problem or know the solution? Thanks. ..Al

Try coating the contacts with dielectric grease. Helps prevent corrosion, keeps it lubed up and improves the flow of electricity.

I just have to push and wiggle at the same time. These guys sometimes get a little stubborn.

I haven't had to use any lube to assist, knowing it might get a little messy when putting it back after use. Not a bad idea though.

I have a camco yellow dogbone (it is suppose to take the stress off the powre cord and outlet box).

It's never fit quite right. Do you have a standard black power cord or do you have the fancy one with the shroud. I ended up having to trim the gasket a bit.

Sometimes mine turns to lock, sometimes not. I have never had an issue with the electrical connection yet.

If it doesn't turn, it isn't in the socket far enough. I would always make sure your have the connection secure. I too have to fight getting it secure at times.

If the trailer moves a bit when in use, even on jacks, I would hate to have the cord works it's way out, starting to create more heat due to higher resistance in a poor connection.

The locking system wouldn't be there if it wasn't a necessity.

have a power reel for ours now, so always connected to 5er,
but on the previous 5er, that anaconda would FIGHT!

would end up shaking the whole 38' 5er I would push so hard -
I too wanted it locked and would lean on it pretty hard to push while turning...

even before it went in far enough to turn, I would have to jiggle it up and down and side to side to slide in...

eeewwwwwwwwww. we are talking about plugs, right ?!?
